Nightmare on Halloween

Halloween... originally a pagan festival marking the start of winter. Reduced to a commercial holiday where people dress up as ghosts,gobblins and slutty pumpkins.

Just had some kids turn up to my door "trick or treat"... dressed like freaks. But lets just say the treat we gave... wasnt just candy Mwhahahahhahaha.

Although personally i wouldnt celebrate such a festival im curious to hear what you guys have to say. Harmless fun? shirk?

Or alternatively if you have a scary story i'd like to hear that too.

Do you ever feel like doing something totally.... how can i put this... un-Islamic?

Not that im about to do anything....

But just generally saying we must all have .... weaknesses (for lack of a better word) that tempt us. Things we struggle with... Just interested in where your weaknesses lie.

I cant stop watching stupid TV programs.... like lost... or heroes... or Two and a Half Men.... silly sitcoms. Damn you TV... Damn you to the firey depths of hell from which yee came from!!!!

I struggle to get up for fajr...

The Evil Thread

What do you consider evil?

Is concepts of good and evil determined by the soceity you life in?
Hitler didnt think he was evil. Hitler thought he was the saviour of the German people. Bcoz of which tje Nazi's viewed the killing of Jews to be acceptable.

Is evil simply things that displease us (as well as God) while good being simply what pleases us?

Some have even said at time Evil is infact Good... and Good is Evil. In such situations does the end justify the means?

What does Evil mean and represent to you?

In Islam we are taught to have great care and mercy upon all of Gods creatures. As mistreating an animal is considered a great sin. So much so that an ill-treated animal will testify against the one who abused it on the Day of Judgment.

I recently found out that the prophet (pbuh) also had a called called Muezza with whom he would often play with.

A Story of Seven Words

Hi, every1. We tried this once before but becoz i was away, it got outta hand and certain people (not mentioning who... you know who you are) went off on a tangent.

Okay, so lets start again.

Its basically a game I once saw on another forum.

Basicly every1 contributes a sentence to the story compromising of upto seven words. So no more than seven words people.

The rules are simple:

1. Max seven words
2. There is no end.
3. Keep it clean

I'll start us off:

"I bumped into a friend and asked"

The 100th Name of God

In Islam Allah (swt) has been given many attributes or names revealed in the Qu'ran as well as through the Sunnah of the prophet (pbuh). Of which there are 99 which are considered the elite names.

The prophet (pbuh) once famously stated in a Hadith:

"Verily, there are ninety-nine names of God, one hundred minus one. He who enumerates them would get into Paradise." (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 4, no. 1410)

However it has been rumoured that there exists a 100th name which is hidden. In Sufism, the idea of the 100th name is most prominent.

Magazine Idea Factory

any ideas for articles etc

then feel free to list them here.

Preferably something we havent already covered.

Baring in mind the nature and tone of the magazine.

Oh, and just because you've listed an idea dont mean we'll def write about it...

Why the World Needs SuperHeroes

The world needs more super heroes. In an age where we are at war in many corners of the globe and we have been taught that there is a perceived threat at every shore, there has never been a better time than now to believe in super heroes.
It seems that so many of our wars are waged because of ideological differences. Many of our global political problems stem from religious and spiritual disconnections.
