In the next issue of The Revival our regular fetaure Voice Of The Muslim is asking ppl across the Uk the following questions:
Do young Muslims today like to mix and integrate with non Muslims at college/uni, work and especially in their everyday life? Do young Muslims actually have close friends who ar enon-muslims? Or do they prefer segregation? Or do they beleive non Muslims don't wanna mix with us? Or the old view most non Muslims are racist/Islamophobic?

What is it like being a young Muslim living in Britain? Alveena Salim, a University student from London gives her personal account.
I spend a lot of my time completing questionnaires in women’s magazines. I love hearing what others have to say about me.
The other day I was filling out a questionnaire with my sister, after answering twenty questions she loudly read out the results “You’re a Sad Loner Who Needs To Get A Lifeâ€.
I double checked just to make sure she wasn’t winding me up as usual, but she was right my results did indicate that I was a sad loner with no life (Charming!).
Walking down the street it is no longer enough to speak in rap. The gold rings mean nothing. Nor do the chains. There are two types of people out there. Those that carry and those that are dead. Bang bang.
La pistola. The Ultimate Badge of Honour. It says more than anything else. Who cares about the police? I own the streets and people fear me. And they should. I am the law. Disrespect me at your own peril. Bang bang.
Anti-Muslim prejudice is rising across Europe. There are calls for bans on Muslim immigration, bans on the construction of mosques and a ban on women wearing the veil. France has already barred Muslim girls from wearing the hijab in school and Switzerland has banned the construction of minarets.
In Britain, the British National Party is gaining greater prominence. It calls Islam a “wicked and vicious faith†and its leader, Nick Griffin, is set to become an MP in the next general election.
What does all this mean for the millions of Muslims in Britain and Europe. Should we be scared for our future in Britain and Europe? Naheem Zaffar says YES. He argues that Europe is on the brink of repeating the mistakes of history by allowing far-right parties to gain power. Irfan Jalil says NO. He argues that the far-right can only gain power if we fail to engage politically.
The Revival Magazine print version is currently on hold and now we are hoping to launch an on-line magazine.
So we are in need of regular writers for the on-line mag.
If you are a writer or have strong views on issues facing Muslims today then why not get on board with the revival- we do aim to represent the voice of the Muslim youth.
The Revival looks at one young mans journey from life on the street to life in prison and then discovering Islam again.

The point in my career which led me to engage in activities of crime was when my mother died. Being only 18 and very close to my mum, it was a huge shock when cancer had swept throughout her entire body and therefore, being unable to cope, I thought taking drugs and alcohol would temporarily ease the pain.
The tradition of marrying a cousin is becoming more entrenched among British-born Pakistanis living in Bradford than it was a generation ago, writes Winifred Robinson.
