Blame The Pakistani's

Attention has fallen on the role of madrassas, or Islamic religious schools, following evidence that one of the London bombers may have attended one.

Five young Muslims attending madrassas in Pakistan and Kashmir spoke to BBC Urdu Interactive about studying in the religious institutions and how they compare to secular education.

'SUICIDE BOMBER' SHOT

Police have shot a suspected suicide bomber at a tube station in south London.

Reports are also coming in that a mosque in the east of the capital has been surrounded by armed officers and residents told to stay indoors.

In the first incident, marksmen opened fire near Stockwell Tube station as passengers were evacuated. It is thought the man was killed.

Alarmed onlookers said they saw police, some in plain clothes, chasing a man before opening fire.

Secret Teenage Abortions

Secret teenage abortions

The case of schoolgirl Melissa Smith, who had a secret abortion aged 14, shocked many across the UK who were unaware their daughters could be given terminations without their parents being informed.

Speaking about her ordeal for the first time, Melissa tells Real Story how she now regrets losing the baby and wishes she had involved her mother in the decision.

Real Story follows the Smith family as they meet Sue Axon, a mother from Manchester who is about to launch a High Court challenge seeking to put an end to secret schoolgirl abortions.

Hanging Out In Graveyards

Salaam

When I was in college sometimes my mates used to spend their time hanging out in the graveyard…mainly cos it was so “dead” and no one ever went there. It was a good place to go and talk…

I never went with them mainly because I’ve always found the idea of laughing and joking around graves extremely disrespectful. Even today, sometimes when I’m passing a graveyard I shut up if I’m talking to someone and walk past quickly.

Every year I do my dads head in to take me to the graveyard during Shab e Baraat, but he never does.

Are You Heartless?

Salaam

Sometimes people come out with the most mean/heartless statements. It’s as if they WANT to purposely hurt others.

Girls more so, can be unbelievably bitchy sometimes…

It’s bad enough thinking nasty mean things…. but it says a lot about the character of the one who just comes out and says mean stuff with the intent to hurt.

Some people totally allow their “evil side” to rule and dominate them.

Are we like that? Do we ever cross the line? Is being “evil” part of some people’s nature? Can it not be helped?

Banning The HT?

Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain Responds to Muslim MPs Call to Ban Party

London, UK, July 20 – The call by some Muslim MPs to UK Home Secretary Charles Clarke to ban the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir, a non-violent Islamic political party that rejects terrorism and militancy, is nothing more than an attempt to stifle legitimate political expression in the Muslim community.

For over five decades Hizb ut-Tahrir has faced intense repression at the hands of the rulers of the Muslim world.

The So Called-"Real Story"

Salaam

I was flicking through the channels and watched the last 20min of this programme.

The men who want to be bombers

As the hunt goes on for those controlling the group, Real Story looks at the motives behind the bombers' actions and talks to other young British Muslims who say they are prepared to die.

What drives them to take such a radical decision? Born in the UK, why do they apparently hate their home country so much that they are prepared to kill themselves - and others, including Muslims, who are in the area when they strike?

Destroying Islamic History

Developers and purists erase Mecca's history

MECCA, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) - Some of Islam's historic sites in Mecca, possibly including a home of the Prophet Mohammad, are under threat from Saudi real estate developers and Wahhabi Muslims who view them as promoting idolatry.

Sami Angawi, an expert on the region's Islamic architecture, said 1,400-year-old buildings from the early Islamic period risk being demolished to make way for high rise towers for Muslims flocking to perform the annual pilgrimage to Islam's holiest city.

"We are witnessing now the last few moments of the history of Mec
