the way i see it is, you're gona get married to the person and not your parents. so i dont see why they but in. a lot of muslims are racists. bring the deen into it and they cant win.

Most parents want whats best for their children, if you parents know you well enough then they can suggest a good future partner.

It's shame, Allah (swt) didnt place these restrictions but muslims do

My parents are cultural so it goes something like this.

Muslim -> Sunni -> Hanafi -> Bengladeshi -> Sylheti (part of Bangladesh)

I bet they made the list even before I was born and the flowchart must go on and on. But anyway yeah when you bring religion in they can't argue with that.

aye big shame. it wont be like that with the next generation of mozlems

Not to worry.

Parents will be in for a big surprise.

wedding planning is a nightmare Biggrin

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

Why do couples hold hands during their wedding?
It's a formality just like two boxers shaking hands before the fight begins!

It's funny when people discuss Love Marriage vs Arranged.
It's like asking someone, if suicide is better or being murdered

It is difficult to understand GOD. He makes such beautiful things as women
and then he turns them into Wives

If you are married please ignore this message,
If not married : Happy Independence Day

There's a way of transferring funds that is even faster than electronic
banking. It's called marriage

Fact of life: One woman brings you into this world crying & the other
ensures you continue to do so for the rest of your life!

Q: Why doesn't law permit a man to marry a second woman?
A: Because as per law you cannot be punished twice for the same offence!

It's gonna be difficult to find someone compatible to me from "back home" because my values are fairly different.

another point i agree on. The ppl in Pakistan have a completely different upbringing to us. Personally i think its easier for a guy to marry a women from back home and be compatiable then for a women.[/quote]

Naz, why do I get the impression that you STILL think I'm a girl? Lol

You know, actually I wouldn't mind marrying a girl who's slighlty older than me.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

Of course your going to agree with yourself.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

Its just some of the stuff you come out with it just sounds a bit girly.

good to see you writing in full sentences makes it easier to read. Just need to work on your spelling and then it will be perfect Blum 3

Thank you, Naz, but those "fruity tunes" are ones that I personally learn from, you know they have a meaning. Well, I said that I'm a 16 year od GUY, when you said in another thread that we need more sisters in the legal profession. Not that I disagree.
Well, anyway, let's move on.
