Three years of lessons...approx one lesson a week.

Let me calculate it for you.

How much does your instructor charge per lesson?

How many tests, have you had?

How much is car hire?

approx 15-17 qyuid here.........london would be about 17 at the least per lesson

she had two or three tests

no idea on car hire

I remember when it was 10 pound per lesson......

Remember this: some instructors are professional con men, they will not teach you everything, for instance 5 point check, and a common tactic they deploy on test day is making the pupil feel uneasy, thus this will result in you not feeling confident- it doesn’t really benefit the instructor if one of his pupil passes, all that means he loses a customer. Sad

Welcome to the shady world of the driving instructors. I went undercover and observed my sister’s instructors – and I was tempted to violate the law- I hate money sucking-parasites

20 quid per lesson

£30 if u take one hour n half lesson

£45 for test

£30 to hire car for test

its bloody day light robbery

£45 (DVLA test) X 3= £135

£30 (Car hire) X 3= £90

First total= £225

Have to estimate the amount of lesson Muslim Sister has had, she said a lesson every week for 3 years, there’s 52 weeks in a year.

52 weeks X 3 = 156 (lesson’s)

156 lessons (rough guess) X £20(Per lesson) = £3120

3120(amount spent on lesson) X 225 = £3345 Total spent

£3345 Cray 2

Wow... :?

I could get a very decent car with that kind of money.

Isn't that basically 5,000 USD?

What on earth could you get for that, that would be remotely safe?

You could buy a decent car with that money in the UK, I would buy a salvage car and repair it like PIMP MY RIDE

Have a quick browse- Smile

I don't know. :?

But for a first car and being an inexperinced driver..I wouldnt spend more then £2000-if that.

Well I know I wouldn't trust myself enough to fix up a wreck like those - you best have some real technical knowledge to make sure the safety features are still in tact/installed correctly if replaced.

I dunno where you are going to find anything for over 2000 pounds though Alveena, if prices are anything like the United States (I'd imagine MG, Aston Martin, and Jaguar are less expensive since they aren't imported) 10-12k is more in the range of something safe...

Don't discount safety for cost whatever you do.

Lots of kids will buy a rust bucket for 2 or 3 thousand and something will happen and there will be no ABS, airbag, seat belts won't work out so great and it collapses like a tin can.

I see why GM are struggling to compete. (nah bad joke!)

The UK car market is different to that of US car market. You can purchase a decent car for 2000 pounds. I use to buy salvages and repair them- although they look badly damaged in the pictured, seeing is believing and it’s not as bad as it appears on the photo- I saved thousands of pounds by spending wisely.

We have strong regulation when these car’s are fixed and ready to go back on the road it’s need’s a VIC check, insure the safety of the car and it is roadworthy- thus ensuring that no cowboy mechanical sells a death machine to an unsuspecting customer.

MG is in liquidation

Jaguar- don’t see may of them on the road- unless it the really old Jag’s

Aston Martin- I’ve seen a couple in my lifetime.

lol GM is struggling to compete because they are bad businessmen.

The problem is they know they are indespensible so the government always lends them a hand.

That's the problem with institutionalizing trusts.

Didn't know MG was going under... that's really too bad they made some beauties in the early 50s.

Ah well, progress is unstopable.

Lol..No way.

Like Shazan said..you can get a really decent car with that sort of money.

Just browse through Auto trader.

So what kinda car are you looking for - Anything in particular or just whatever the best value is?

Not fussed and I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to cars.

I've never been into cars.

I went with dad to a show room and wanted the "pretty red" one. :?

I'm looking for anything reliable, small, with power steering, perfect clutch, low milage, very good condition and...well pretty.

the new corsa

otherwise i refuse to take a ride in your car Lol

Which one of her friends has a Porsche?

Certainly not I! Such unsafe vehicles aren't suitable for a family man :D.

benz is a big car

i start up dads car every morning when he drops me to uni

I feel so tiny in the drivers seat-and I'm not THAT short

a car should match succes and size and gender

a girl went for her 8th driving test, had to read the number plate, forgot her glasses, and cdnt read it.

she tried but got it wrong, but told examiner she was dyslexic, he gave her sympathetic look and let her off!

not sure if she passed though, unlikely if she cdnt see anything

had a mock test today

i got 25 minors and five majors

man I'm such a hazard on the road Cray 2
