Childish look on Ramadan

Ramadan in brief

During the month of Ramadan
The Quran was revealed
To our beloved prophet
Through angel Gibril

Goods deeds should be multiply
And bad ones avoided
Daily invocations should be made
And no more backbiting

The big devils are chain up
The angels are ready to record
Major or smaller sins or otherwise good deeds

Heaven is wide open
Hellfire is firmly shut
Lailatul qadr is an odd night
Worth more that a thousand months

Eid is our reward
For all the efforts, for our fast
It marks the end of Ramadan, a sorrow and a joy
It is a celebration but the blessed month is over

May Allah keep us alive until Next Ramadan InshaAllah

Not-Bothered-To-Do-My-Homework Blues

I could see myself
Head of this
So-dull, so-grey, so-uncool
Oxford University
Would just…
But I’ve got the Not-Bothered-To-Do-My-Homework Blues

Should know for my children
Where’s West and East and what is Africa
Would just…
But I’ve got the Not-Bothered-To-Do-My-Homework Blues

Could have this Alison-girl
So smarty-clever and cool-listener
Would just…
But I’ve got the Not-Bothered-To-Do-My-Homework Blues

Could have this luxury-posh house,
This so girl-magnet car and all this softy-cool cash
Would just…
But I’ve got the Not-Bothered-To-Do-My-Homework Blues

I guess I can always stop daydreaming in class…

why are you moaning for?

i wrote this poem ages ago. then found it again and made some "modifications" but i think it needs some more, maybe a "palestinian" paragraph?

Why are you moaning for?

Is that you that is moaning
When there’s no hater when you go downstairs?
While in Russia
People are dying of cold.

Is that you that is moaning
When there’s no hot water when you need it?
While in India
There’s no water to drink.

Is that you that is moaning
When there’s no crisp in the cupboard?
While in Africa
People are starving to death.

Is that you that is moaning when it’s raining during the week-end?
While in Oceania
There are Tsunamis and Tropical storms.

Is that you that is moaning
When you have to share your room with your sister?
While in China
You can only have one child.

What is and What Could be [Poem]

I've been here before
So many, many times

Felt the breeze on my skin
Looking into the night sky
Admiring the stars
Unfazed by the city lights
Unmoved by my drowning soul.

Your staring eyes
In the darkness of my mind
The memories of a house
What is and what could be
Just you and me.

My joy and love
Im in need of you
To cry and laugh
This is the truth
dont doubt my love.

Those who mattered to me
those who cared to love.
If not for you
The rivers would run red
The pain i could not forget.
When i lost you.

Hijab!

Small piece of cloth
Creating so much controversy
Worn by a tiny minority
In western society

Cause for concern
Surely not
Must be more important issues to discuss
Foreign policy, economy, Health service
Some Politicians have other ideas
Bash Islam as much as possible
And improve your ratings and probability for high office
Regardless of the Islam phobic attacks on the vulnerable women
They claim to be standing up for

Muslim Women continue to obey Allah
Remember the words of your lord and Prophet always
Jannah isn’t cheap
Although hellfire is easy to attain

The greater the test
The more the reward to come
Allah tests those whom he loves
The Prophets suffered the most
Beaten, abused, boycotted and denied

A Single Chance For Paradise

Moi trying my hand at poetry... :? Givers of comments/constructive crit will be profusely thanked Wink

A SINGLE CHANCE FOR PARADISE

A single chance for paradise
It is the only one you'll get
Far too precious to be wasted
Because one day you shall regret
All those years that you neglected
Your Qur'an, your salaat, your fast
And then you will crumple, shedding tears
For all the hours that slipped past

All of those times you tossed away
Hundreds of chances for reward
Those dire warnings from your parents
That you so stubbornly ignored
Busy with mindless, useless things
And although you choose to forget
Allah certainly remembers
All of your foul-mouthed disrespect

Malicious lies, cheating and theft

Father and son

Father
Its not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
Youre still young, thats your fault,
Theres so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but Im happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that its not easy,
To be calm when youve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything youve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

Son
How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
Its always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Now theres a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

Father
Its not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.

No Regrets

I just wanted to share some song lyrics I like.

No Regrets
by Aesop Rock

Lucy was 7 and wore a head of blue barettes
City born, into this world with no knowledge and no regrets
Had a piece of yellow chalk with which she'd draw upon the street
The many faces of the various locals that she would meet
There was joshua, age 10
Bully of the block
Who always took her milk money at the morning bus stop
There was Mrs. Crabtree, and her poodle
She always gave a wave and holler on her weekly trip down to the bingo
parlor
And she drew
Men, women, kids, sunsets, clouds
And she drew
Skyscrapers, fruit stands, cities, towns
Always said hello to passers-by
They'd ask her why she passed her time
Attachin lines to concrete
But she would only smile
