The Revival In The Press (TV, Radio, print)

Salaam

Ed has just told me that Zahid Maqbool (Sub Editor, The Revival) has done many interviews today including being on a panel of guests on Radio 4 today.

I will add links to the programmes as soon as Ed forwards them to me.

(Quoting 'Ed: 'He did about 20 interviews including Channel 4 news, BBC news 24, Radio 5 Live, Sky News, Channel 5, ITV News, The Guardian and BBC Radio 4).

Did any of you hear the interviews? Was he any good?

How strong is the Israeli Lobby?

Salaam.

Since the terrorist attacks of july, all reports about the hunt for the bombers etc always seems to have another following it mentioning how Israel has lived under this menace for far longer. Every report about prevention is followed by how its prevented in Israel. Every report of political issues are followed about how Israel has similar issues, but has dealt with them.

Today, Bliar went out of his way to condemn suicide bombings in occupied Palestine.

Now is this because of the strong pro-Israel lobby, or because Britain has a strong empahy with Israel?

Colorado congressman says U.S. could retaliate against Islam

In the world of hypotheticals anything is possible:

DENVER (AP) -- A Colorado congressman told a radio show host that the U.S. could "take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists attacked the country with nuclear weapons.

Rep. Tom Tancredo made his remarks Friday on WFLA-AM in Orlando, Fla. His spokesman stressed he was only speaking hypothetically.

I know a song that'll get on your nerves, get on your nerves

Salaam

So what gets on your nerves?
What do you dislike?

Wat can be done about it in a proactive, positive manner?

I dislike:
Stupidity.
Can't think of anything else atm.

I understand that people have different levels of intellect, but I am not talking of intellectual stupidity (after all you have a certain amount, but there is nothing you can do about it).

I am talking when people jump head first and think later.
When people talk first, think later.

I think people sound stupid when they cannot compress the information they wish to communicate.

Srebrenica Massacre: Ten years On

Salaam

Ten years ago on this day, 7,500 muslim men and children were massacred whilst under the protectorate of the UN Peace Keepers. They had the troops, the weaponry and the knowledge of what was happening, but decided not to get involved, even though it was the UN itself which declared the area a protected area.

In a bloody war where many muslims (and also a few non muslims) were brutally massacred, this was probably the first time the UN lost all respect and credibility amongst muslims.

UK Fatwa to Call Bombers Unbelievers, If Proved Muslims

UK Fatwa to Call Bombers Unbelievers, If Proved Muslims

Britain’s top Muslim scholars are drafting a fatwa stripping those behind the grisly London blasts, if proved Muslims, from the right to call themselves Muslims, a leading British newspaper said Sunday, July 10.

Well 'Ed asked me to stick that on the site. I decided not to.

I disagree vehemently with it. My reasons:

1. Being a muslim is about beliefs, not actions.
2. It is the easy way out.
