my friend is depressed badly, anyone got any contact numbers for helplines, preferably for muslims, and preferably free? He is in a bad state.

problem is my mates bordering on either losing his mind or going and getting himself in trouble getting violent. he might go onto drugs cos at the moment he cant get his headclear. already smokes.

wot is the root problem i.e. y do u think he's losing his mind - loadsa ppl smoke (u r referring to fags right) but that doesnt make em go crazy.
get him to go see a doc - if he's genuinely depressed they will give him some tablets to deal with it, and if he wants to stop smoking they can give him a nicotine patch or summat.

Your friend will not lose his mind. he may feel like he will, but that is growing up.
Just make sure your friend keeps decent company.
i would say talk to your friend, but your friend may prefer to keep things bottled up. Just let your know you are there as a friend.

Okay firstly i dont know the guy... dont know what made you jump to that conclusion.
He's not answered my question, im p.sure 90% of the time its a girl whose messing with the guys head. Which is why i asked, just playing the odds.
Admin, im pretty sure House is right in this case. If the guy needs help he should go see a Doctor or a shrink not consult a forum. The most his friend can do is be there for him, moral support and all that.
Aasiyah; im never gonna spell your name right... the spellings just beyond me(i only spelt it right here coz im looking at your post). And im not mean... im a realist. And yeah i did know what you meant just wanted clarification incase you were being funny.

Guest: sounds like he's going down a very destructive path. Its times like this that friends intervene and set him straight. So drag him kicking and screaming back onto the right path. Get rid of the drugs and let him go cold turkey... it aint gonna be pretty nor easy... but then nothing worth doing ever is.

What age is your mate? I knw you wanted a muslim helpline but childline is a good one to ring if your under 18 >>0800 1111 (this is 24/7 i am sure)
The best thing you can do for your mate is stand by him, listen to him and see what his problem is about and just help him out where you can. Another thing is to get him to talk to someone and they will offer him professional help
