Grooming of young girls is a crime against humanity and as Muslims, especially leaders of the community , should definitely speak out against it. As the Prophet mentioned when you see an evil you should stop it with your hands, speak out against it with your tongue or at least deny it in your heart as this is the weakest of Imaan. Especially when perperators seem to be some Muslims across the country- the Muslim community has been trying to hide this issue under the carpet.
So I am happy it has been highlighted in Jummah sermons nationwide as this affects us all as Muslims are perperators AND victims due to this sick action. Now that mosques have woken up, active Muslims and organisations should be active in mosques by offering their services. So other real issues like Islamophobia, tackling alcohol and drug abuse, sectarianism, political lobbying etc etc can be tackled by the mosques and Imams.
Today in most mosques the talented and right minded individuals stay away and just moan about mosques and Imams- now is the time to not just talk the talk, but also walk the walk.
