New 8 week Tajweed Term Starting in May 2011!

Tajweed is an obligation for all Muslims. The importance of this knowledge cannot be emphasized as any departure from the correct way of reciting the Qur’an invalidates it as the Qur’an.

Teacher: Shaykh Marwan Ghalayini

Students are required to attend a brief assessment with Shaykh Marwan, prior to entry to ensure they proceed to the correct Stage. Details of assessment dates for the April 2011 intake will be available shortly.

Surat Al-Anbiyaa’ is the 21st chapter of the Qur’an and is a Meccan Surah. It covers Islamic creed in its diverse branches such as the message, Allah’s Divine Unity, resurrection, the day of reckoning and its hardships and fearsome encounter. The surah also relates the stories of the Holy Prophets.

For many, it is a recurring struggle to fruitfully perform the Salah under mental seclusion from the confining world surrounding us, to turn to Allah in solitude under full submission, to seek His pleasure and intensify the one-to-one relationship with the All-Mighty. Based on the commended work of the renowned scholar, Imam Al-Ghazali’s “Minhajul Arifeen”, we will be enlightened with a unique dimension to enhance our spiritual connection with the Creator, a step-by-step approach starting from beyond the intention to perform the Salah to the supplication made after the tashahud and more.

Explanation of Surah Ahqaf

“Our people, respond to the one who calls you to Allah. Believe in Him: He will forgive you your sins and protect you from a painful torment”
[Al Ahqaaf: 31]

Al Ahqaaf is the 46th chapter of the Qur’an, a Makkan surah revealed around the 10th year of Prophethood, during the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) return from his infamous journey to Ta’if, where he was rejected and abused by the people. It is in the context of the ‘year of sorrow’ where he (upon him be peace) was going through great personal difficulty that this surah was revealed by Allah, as a reassurance to him and the believers, and a warning to those who reject the message.
