Du'a - The weapon of the believer: PART 4

Salaam Biggrin

August 18th - Chapter 5: The Etiquette of Du'a continued

Sorry for the big gap between the parts by the way

7. To pray with Humility and Fear

“Call upon your Lord with humility, and in secret. Verily, He does not like aggressors.” – Surah al-A’raf

So it is important that the servant show humility to the Creator and humble himself while making du’a. For is it not befitting that a slave appear in front of his Creator and Master in a state of humility and realising the status of his Lord, fearing his own shortcomings in his duty towards Him?

8. To Complain Only to Allah

Salaam again! Biggrin

August 8th - Chapter 5: The Etiquette of Du'a

There are a number of manners and etiquette procedures that accompany the performances of du'a. The difference between this part and the previous one ( part 2) is that such etiquette occurs while a person is making du'a, whereas the acts mentioned previously must occur before a person makes du'a.

1. Praising Allah Before the Du'a and Praying upon the prophet(saw)

The person who is making the du'a is asking for forgiveness, mercy and sustenance from his Creator, so it behoves that the worshipper to start his du'a with the praise and glorification of Allah.

Du'a - The weapon of the believer: PART 2

Salaam and welcome back! Biggrin (knew u couldnt keep away :p)

Good news..we have started a new chapter. Bad news..there is none! Biggrin

August 7th - Chapter 4: The Pre-Conditions of Du'a

Just like a person's salat will not be accepted if he performs the necessary pre-requisites,likewise a person's du'a will likely not be accepted until thes pre-requisites are met.(However it is possible that a du'a is accepted even if some conditions have not been met as the response of a du'a depends on the Will of Allah, and He responds to whom He pleases. Therefore it is also possible that that a muslim who fulfills all these conditions is not responded to, but the person who strives to do so, will have a greater chance of their du'a being answered)

Salaam y'all! Biggrin

So if you've checked out the Happy blog (if you haven't what u waiting for?!) you'll see that the title of this blog is the same as one of the books I got from the bookshop. I've started reading it and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Sooo I was thinking...I should be posting on revvy as I'm reading it so that you can get some good out of it as well inshAllah.

ATTENTION!: Dear ladies and gents Blum 3
It has come to my attention....nah, I kid, I kid. What I really want to say is that after looong and hard deliberating, I have indeedy decided to break this thread into part! Can I hear a woot, woot? Blum 3

What made you HAPPY today? :D

Simple as that folks..what made you HAPPPY today?

Was it being the first in the lunch que? Was it because you bought that thing that you had your eye on for aaaages? OR...maybe you met a friend that you hadn't seen in years? Alright the examples may not be aall that but but that fine. Ya get the picture Im sure, were all smart enough here (yes I AM talking to you).It doesn't have to be all that, but then again, if it made you happy I guess it WAS.

Australia to deport lone children in refugee plan

Australia came under fire from the U.N. children's aid agency and human rights advocates Friday over its plan to send unaccompanied child asylum seekers to Malaysia under a refugee swap deal being negotiated with the Southeast Asian nation.

Australia wants to deter asylum seekers from traveling to the continent by boat by sending hundreds of new arrivals to Malaysia. The Malaysian government has reached an in-principle agreement to take 800 off Australian hands in return for Australia resettling 4,000 registered refugees from among more than 90,000 languishing in Malaysia.
Australian Immigration Minister Chris Bowen confirmed that the 800 will include vulnerable children who make the perilous boat journey to Australia without parents or adult guardians.

Kids!

A lot of talks mention the duties that parents have towards their children in teaching about Islam and setting them up for later life (and this isn't even the core subject being discussed, it just creeps up!

I guess it is something worth discussing considering stories you hear about kids gone bad and all that, but with pretty much all of the talks discussing technology and the media that kids are exposed to (which might desensitise them to certain activities and consider them 'normal').

Routine

I think getting into a routine is the best thing i can do at the moment so that i don't neglect any duties that i have (religious or otherwise)

Its a lot easier said than done though, so if anyone already has a routine (or whatever) how did you go about it????

I guess though, that any suggestions that are made wouldn't have any impact if im not willing to act on them, but inshAllah it'll work!

Uganda: the worst place to be gay

Thats the name of the programme on BBC Three at the moment.
the guy doin the diggin is a radio presenter who himself is gay..

but he was talking to people who had been disowned by their family for coming out and one of the guys said "we are born guy, we will die gay".

Im remembering the post that someone put up on here about the muslim girl who came out and im thinking about what issues a muslim might face in such a siutation.

yes, homosexuality is haraam, but the refraining of it isnt as straightforward as refraining from lets say..alcohol because what is involved are a persons feelings, a lot more complex i'd say...(now let it be known that i dont support homosexuality before anyone thinks i do and starts ranting of on one)
