Looking Back

Almost everyday i search through my memories of school/6th form (or college if you prefer) and i wish that i was back there! It's kind of annoying actually not being able to live in the present and instead living in the past. Sometimes i find myself trying to relive those times through my younger cousins - seriously! Gosh i must be so annoying to them, i never stop telling them that school is the best time of a persons life and how they should make the most of it and be who they want to be and just really live it (obviously ignoring the fact - or fatal flaw? that i've just started my twenties and don't really have much 'experience' of life!)

In a way it's probably because the future is a scary, unknown (and unplanned) void where we have to grow up - act muture and so on, while school sighh was the time where everyone thought that they were cool (good times, good times) and it was so chilled out. we didn't have to worry about where our next paycheck (direct debit) was coming from - we got that from our EMA just for going to school (and there was always ways to get it even if you had bunked most of the week-heh)

Bunking. It's a whole other topic! Speaking from the more mature, responsible side: I condemn it and a person doesn't realise how much they miss by bunking a lesson (I do believe this now by the way) but...
Speaking from a more balanced, realistic side: Bunking sometimes makes the best days - it's true!

In fact one time i bunked i ended up in Edgeware Road (it's in London for those of you who thought: what?!) a whole street of Arab food, sheesha etc etc etc, my friend and i guessed the way there and guessed the way back (we weren't too familiar with how to travel on the tube (the underground) at the time, wayyy too many coloured lines you see..

In fact once on a separate occasion another friend and i ended up in Edgeware (aprox 1hour 15mins) instead of Edgeware Road (aprox 40mins)

Anyway both extraordinarily turned out to be fantastic days (among many many many more) - i would go into detail but part of me wants to keep it hidden like a child does when they're guilty of having too many sweets (or something similar!)

I just wish that we could kind of see ourselves there - time travel back or something - like a movie "He's behind youuu", "Don't do thattt", "What was i thinking?!", "Say somethinggg". I mean sure I know that on a deeper level, watching our past is not the purpose of life but it would be interesting no? Althoughh for the sake of a balanced argument, we would be technically wasting our present in our past which means that when we delve in our memories we are wasting time - if you get what i mean.

Oki dokey i think i've happily rambled long enough (i'm starting to get pins and needles in my left foot)

Thus/therefore/hence i'm going to stop here and continue to reminisce without the typing..

Merci to those who was able to come this far with the reading - massive accomplishment grinnnnnn

Au revoir folksss

and i who was dreading college...

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

DREADING?! Shok no way, embraceeee ittt! And if you can't just think one day you might be where i am now: staring into a 'scary, unknown (and unplanned) void' (to quote myself of course!)
Still to be fair i am allowing myself to be a little excited to see what's in this void even though strictly speaking my allegiance is to my teen years Biggrin

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

Never shall i regret my teen years! (well still got a few ahead so...)
Fine..i'll give it a go..

How old are you?

Assuming you're asking me (seems appropriate): I'm 21 - i know, i know, i'm not a muslim 'youth' anymore

Have you got yourself a rocking chair or a walking stick yet?

If not, you're still young and part of "the youth".

Lol, I would actually love a walking stick - i have a incredible amount of pain in my right knee when i walk - sighh

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

I used to have that in my left knee - then I put on a lot of weight and it got sorted.

LOLL
See i don't think that's something i want to do.. yet.. maybe.. not.. ever

aah, vanity. or the appreciation of good health. One or the other.

Vanity probably (um definitely - why lie?) although the appreciation of good health is a close second!

LOL! Oh and can i just point out that... I absolutely hated - sorry PRESENT tense - hateee Lana! (even if she can't mollycoddle Clark anymore because she absorbed all of the kryptonite from that bomb and has actually left the show!)

Yup totally agree lol she always made it so difficult for Clark..even tho it was sad in the end when they couldn't get together due to the krypto

SAD no way - i was sooo relieved, she was wayyyy too annoying - Chloe on the other hand is cool and it would have been nice if they had got together at least for a little while but Lois and Clark is the classic so all's well that ends well Biggrin

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

lol chloe is too smart for clark haha.... yh lois and clark is the classic ending....or is that how it will really end in season 10 hmmm.

on topic tho, highschool and the two years of college are probably the best years of ones youth.....thing is with college it flys by sooo fast that sometimes you look back and think did i really take full advantage...basic message is college is a big change or was for me so just work hard and enjoy it to its fullest inshAllah....that way u'l have less regrets of what you could have or should have done during those precious years.

They'll probably get marrieddd and have marital problems about how Clark neglects Lois for his superhero work (totally made up but very possible!)

haha lol perhaps after they finish the 'superman early years series' they should start to work on the 'later years/ending of supermans life'....< lol or maybe its not such a good idea haha

It's kinda already done (well not Superman's ending - never! but the later years) with 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' (Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher)did you watch those growing up?

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

yh did watch some of them...but wasn't a big superman fan at that age lol ...only developed the craze later on

altho i distinctly remember watching a superman movie when i was younger where he turned a whole lake to ice with his breath and then lifted it up... to put out a fire....think he melted it back to liquid with his laser vision lol

LOLLL I remember that too! Did you watch the ones with Christopher Reeve? They came on TV (again) not so long ago. There was also one really oldddd one i remember called SuperGirl (I kinda grew up watching various Superheroes - The X-Men cartoon on Saturday mornings was the best!)

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

lol yh i think the lake one was starring Christopher Reeve...yh i watched the Supergirl one aswel (was a one movie special i think) ...i think smallville is planning to bring back the old superman actors for one episode of the smallville series....lol the xmen cartoons yh...but i watched alot of power rangers (was all bout the evil green ranger and the red ranger haha)

Power Rangers were sooo good, they kinda ruined it over time Sad

Remember that crazyyy Rita andddd omg ALPHA the robot lol

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

yup forgot all bout alpha and there was that like ghost dude in the mirror aswel....and i remember those two comedians, the fat and skinny one (airheads) lol

LOL oh yehhh the bulliesss, you're right they were so dopeyyy!

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

Alot of girls hate Lana, for some reason. LOL! I guess jealousy never dies! I think Clark is gonna end up killing the Kandorians! Maybe the Assasin from Episode Saviour will come back.
