The Surprise

A while ago, I knew a chap called Charlie. I knew him really well. So well that I knew about him more than he knew about himself. He also knew about me more than I knew about myself.
The days and weeks of being close lasted for a very long time. Then one dull Sunday evening over nothing too serious it all ended. I didn't see Charlie or hear from him for a number of years. This weekend he contacted me out of the blue. Sat me down and revealed something to me. I don't know if I was shocked or pleased. If I was happy or angry.
He had gone and done some seriously illegal stuff, but done it all as me. Set up the business account in my name, the bank account in my name and had amassed a small fortune in my name.
But the business relationship managers had become suspicious of of the account and needed the account holder to go with photo ID to close the account and collect the "small fortune"
Now Charlie wants me to go in and wrap things up and give him the money.

The question which I will also discuss at length with my councellor is:
Do I tell the police, take out the money and let Charlie have it, take the money and give it to a charity, buy myself the motorbike I've wanted for so long or a flash mew Merc AMG...?

It's not enough to go off the radar and live a life of luxury in an exotic part of the world.

But I do know where it's come from and I know that Charlie isn't entitled to any of it and I would like to give it to the charities / needy that he's indirectly stolen it from. But then there's going to be a comeback from him. Not that I can't deal with that, but it's hassel I can do without.

So do what's right, or the what's right. But then again I could go with doing what's right. Soooo many choices each with a different outcome. Which outcome to pick.....

H E L P...................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allow it and walk away now...before it comes back to bite you in the behind. You really don't want that feeling of having to always look over your shoulder.

Yeah they call that identity fraud.

The right thing to do would be to call the cops and report this.

But i can see how you might feel awkward about that as he was a close friend. But then again he did betray you and your trust by doing this. And you havent really been in touch for years so really you could both be two very different people now. So should you really give a flying-monkey-crack anymore?

If you're just wanting the middle road, then just tell him you cant help him as your uncomfortable with everything hes done and walk away. DO NOT be tempted by the money coz thats not halal money and it will only bring you disaster if you do take it.

Losing a close friend is always... heartbreaking but having them betray your trust is worse. It kinda makes you think; did they ever really understand me and our broship at all. Or were they just playing you or being fake the entire time.

Don't take it and don't give it to Charlie either. Not one bit at all. It hasn't come through the right income. Sweet and simple as that.

1) I was supporting what you said, by adding extra strength. Two's better than one. 2) It was my attempt to be straight to the point and not blabber on.
