pinch zoom

May Peace and blessings of Allah be on you dear reader!

ever been browsing the net and scrolling up (or down) and suddenly instead of scrolling your webpage just shrinks (or grows bigger?)

never fear, LtS here in a moment of procastination paused her lecture, went of tribby and this particular scenario described above occured to her for the "once-too-many" time and so she did what anyone of her generation would do.

yes ladies and gentlemen..

I googled it.

and i came up with fairly good results, the name of this blog being one. its called "pinch zoom" which instantly gave me the answer to my problem. (so knowing what your problem is IS half the solution - is that even a saying? anyway for me it was the whole solution) As soon as i read "pinch zoom" i try "pinching" my mousepad with two fingers and LO AND BEHOLD! it zoomed out! so i pinched out and it zoomed in! coolness indeed.

i got my solution from, on it, it tells you how to deactivate this ____ feature. [in the blank i'd put awesome, but some might choose a more...pejorative adjective, like annoying]

You probably already have the answer to this question but I am going to answer it correctly so others can use the instructions because I was about to throw my computer out the window because of this annoying feature. Go into your control panel select Hardware and Sound, go into Devices and Printers and select "Mouse". It should be right under the heading Devices and Printers. Select Device settings on the right hand side at the top then select "Settings" which is down below that on the right side of the box. After you click on that there will be a list of options on the left hand side. Select "Pinch zoom", uncheck the "enable pinch zoom" box and click apply at the bottom, then click ok.

Laptops. Annoying things.

You need a proper keyboard and mouse.

i was wondering if people used "proper" computers anymore. something with a base unit and a monitor and keyboard and mouse..do people use that anymore? i do, but I mean, young people in the UK.

with phones and phablets and tablets and laptops and mini laptops thingies (notebooks, thats the word) do people feel the need for a base unit?

and from that above list, how do you know which one is best for you?!

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

i dont know if its another hidden feature of the mousepad but sometimes it presses back for me, which is annoying, especially when one is writing an essay in reply to a forum post.

I have this issue with the small laptop in my house. It's more of a netbook i think? It ALWAYS happens. There hasn't been a day when i've used it and such a thing hasn't happened. It's annoying, hence why i don't use it anymore.

disable it lol.

This never happened with my old laptop but it's happened with other peoples laptops and now with my new. I'm guessing it's a new function they added, but I don't see the need for it? :S

It rarely happens to me though, I wanted to know what exactly it is that makes it happen, didn't find out but I did figure out how to shortcut-zoom out -CTRL+0

Changed the settings now, so it shouldn't happen at all. Thank you!

Will be asking my sister to do exactly that.
