steps to attaining Wisdom

The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is SILENCE, the second is LISTENING, the third is MEMORY, the fourth is PRACTICE, the fifth is TEACHING others.

-Solomon Ibn Gabiral

so what do you think each steps represent in our daily lives?

What do you mean by represents?

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

Im only guess here but, i would assume that we would have to learn to silence our minds as well as learn to be silent. Only when we are silent can we really listen.

im guess i dunno really.. but that would make sense. At least to me.

all my texts disappeared, what i said is basically that what i meant by represent is what i think what Seraphim said. how it impacts in our life, what do each other these words mean to you as an individual.

i really like the idea of silencing the mind. we can be so loud in our own mind no other ideas can get in.

i wrote this whole paragraph abt listening and its all gone...

LISTENING: listening is not the same as hearing, we can all hear but we cnt all listen. its a skill that needs to be developped. weve also got to internalize what we listen to and filter. we cnt listen to everything adn everyone. we've got to choose what we listen to.

plus even the stuff we rule out as "unworthy to listen to" we need to analyze and "extrapolate" to be able to apply to new situations. "why is this unworthy?"

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
