In Memorial of You..

This poem is written in the memorial of my father, who embraced my love of writing and encouraged me to go further, who passed away recently from lung cancer - 2nd May 2011.

You
Taught me
To smile, to laugh, to rejoice
You
Taught me
The meaning of life, the way of life, to be the best in life
I loved
You
Who loved me back
I stumbled I fell
Insistently picked up, I was
Questions asked
Questions answered
No frown marred that beautiful face of yours
The day came, where they whispered
How you would perish
We fought
We cried, bitter tears
Hope was renewed
Time and time again
You grieved, we grieved
Different reasons
The pain you were in, did we mourn
The pain we were in, did you mourn
Role reversal and we scolded
Ashamed, not I
I took pride in earning my paradise
And then the scream came
Your sweet heart did she cry
And we questioned, my sisters and I
We pray how we prayed
The angel entered, and you walked away
The oath of fealty you swore to the Lord
Upon your lips
Not once did we realise, you held hands with death
My knees upon the ground
Never had I begged this much
Vows upon vows
But they pronounced you gone
Did we realise, you had gone to your creator
Face shining your lips a cupids bow
As you rejoice in the Gardens of Peace
And we do shudder tears once more
Of joy and sorrow.

May God grant him a high place in Paradise. with his family.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

That's beautiful.

Your father was right to encourage you to write.

May Allah swt grant him jannah, and give you and your family the strength to live on. Ameen.

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

May Allah grant him paradize. and the strength and patience for you and your family to live on and do him proud.

i know it's already been said; but it's really coming from each of us' heart.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Ameen!!!

Subhanallah those words are so touching.

My second cousins grandad is in his final stages right now and i wish him and his family are thinking like you are.

We feel sad when somebody leaves us but we should be happy that they are going to Allah(swt).

May Allah grant your father Jannahtul Firdaus. Ameen

Mashallah , That was really touching and beautiful.

May Allah(SWT)bless your father with peace and paradise, and give us all patience when we need it the most. Ameen.

Death is the end of time. Not the end of Life.

Smile Biggrin

Bought tears to my eyes.

May you be a Sadaqa-e-Jaariyah for him. Ameen.

Lesson: If your parents are alive treat them well. They are a blessing from Allah.
