Funzo thanks!
I love commenting here, you know that. Missing all the krazy kids but to be honest I've really had to take stock of my life and get mega-serious and I don't know if it's the credit crunch or what but the stock take is coming up short. Which is my way of saying pardon my hiding which is never personal, and lots of respect. I'll try and pop in Fridays anyway.

Who makes the clothes, and how much do they get paid that means that a) we can buy them for really cheap and b) Asda, Tesco, Primark etc can still make a profit?
My sister said she went into Primark and saw a hand bag for sale that had two big, colourful labels on it: 1 said 'Only 4 pounds', the other said 'Hand stiched'.
How much of the '4 pounds' would the person who spent hours hand stiching the bag actually get?
How is it halal? especially because many of the countries that make clothes for those shops are Muslim-majority countries.

Big shops like Primark share their grament factory floors with other retailers. It isnt uncommon to find workers stiching a garment from Top-Shop on one asile and Primark on another. The sad reality is that other high-street shops (i.e. Top-Shop etc) are looking to increase their profit margin by charging a higher price.
Unless we have free-trade clothing (Im sure this exists?) widely available, we cannot verify if all large retail stores pay their workers reasonable wages. Muslims have an obligation to ensure that pay is commensurate with the work done, but how can we ensure this? Sew our own clothes? :?
Is this the reason why Shukr clothing is so expensive?

ok, say if someone is delivering a study circle or talking about a particular topic but does not practice what they preach and the only reason they are saying what they are saying is so that the person can benefit and learn something. now should that person stop because they would be classed as a hypocrite or carry on knowing that you are their only source of guidence/knowledge?

Just becoz you're a hypocrit doesnt mean you cant impart knowledge or guidance. Helping others helps us too.
The person leading the circle should continue to do so, bcoz they are in fact aiding helping someone. And in the same process maybe they can achieve redemption by steering other away from the traps they themselves fell into.

I know one about Ravens.
Edgar Allen Po (One of the lesser-known Tellytubbies, I think)
I only know it cos there was an epsiode based around it, before I get accused of swallowing 19th century literature again.
