Human nature is imitation, we automatically subconsciously copy the actions of those who are around us.

More so, those people whom we admire/think highly of or look up to.

We ALL need a role model in life, someone whom we look up to and aspire to be like.

Of course as Muslims are role model should be the Holy Prophet (saw), simply because he is perfection personified.

Who’s YOUR role model? Is it your parents? Your neighbour? A friend? A teacher?

Who has touched your life? Who has transformed your life/thinking? Who do you wish you were like?

Pakistan rape case controversy

What effect will the appeal in the Pakistan gang rape case have on women's justice?
Pakistan's Supreme Court is hearing appeals in a notorious gang rape case which has received worldwide attention.

A village council in Punjab allegedly ordered the rape of Mukhtar Mai in 2002 because her younger brother was seen with a woman from another tribe.

In March, a lower court overturned the convictions of five men and Ms Mai and the government are appealing against four of those acquittals with proceedings expected to last for at least a week.

Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jillani has referred to those who KNOW yet do not apply their knowledge no better then donkeys carrying heavy books.

The Holy Qur’an in reference to the Torah likened those who possessed the divine commandments yet did not understand or apply their knowledge as donkeys.

Don't we act like donkeys? We carry so much knowledge on our backs, but don't understand it.

And what exactly does it mean to be a donkey?

Are those people who spend their lives memorising of the Qur’an in a parrot like fashion without understanding it Donkeys?

A former Israeli soldier has been found guilty of the manslaughter of British student Tom Hurndall in the Gaza Strip.
Ex-sergeant Wahid Taysir was convicted at a military court in Ashkelon for the shooting of Mr Hurndall in April 2003.

Mr Hurndall, 22, was involved in protests against the Israeli military in the Palestinian town of Rafah. He died nine months after the shooting.

His father, Anthony, welcomed the guilty verdict, but he said the Israeli army acted with impunity too often.

No charges over Cruise squirting

Actor Tom Cruise has said he will not press charges against the TV film crew who squirted him with water at the War of the Worlds premiere in London.

Four TV workers were arrested after the 42-year-old actor's face and jacket were drenched with water from a fake microphone on Sunday.

Channel 4 later apologised to Cruise for the stunt, which was filmed for a comedy show.

they also say that I was the best child as well-very quiet and took a lot of crap without complaining

my brother would pull my hair 24/7 and I'd do nothing (my sister would come to my rescue)

my older sis would jack my sweets and I'd say nothing

Hi,

I am looking for information about how I can convert to Islam. All my life I have believed in one God and a few months ago I was reading a website about Islam and realised that there were a lot of things that were appropriate to my beliefs and life. As I was reading about the scientific proofs I felt a belief that I have not felt before. Since then I have done more research into Islam and decided that I would like to 'officially' become Muslim. Is there a course that I can go on at the end of which I will be initiated officially?
