War of the Generations

Why is it, that among the young (us) and the older generations (our parents) there is a huge difference?

For example, belief system. Both are Muslim, both originate from the same place, yet the young and the old act differently to any given situation.

Why is it, that our interpretation of what is correct etiquette and their interpretation is two different things? I like to believe that my morals and beliefs are that of Islamic morals and beliefs with everything else being irrelevant.

Poppy culture

Salaam

We all know of the poppy culture in Afghanistan and other countries (everyone grows poppies).

What can be done about it? Banning does not seem to work as it is the only way for farmers there to make a living.

I would like to suggest a new method: Tax.

There are only two certainties in life: death and taxes.

These countries cannot afford the resources to fight the drug wars.

I suggest legalise the growing of these plants UNDER LICENCE.

Young British Muslim Terrorists
Leaked No 10 dossier reveals Al-Qaeda’s British recruits

AL-QAEDA is secretly recruiting affluent, middle-class Muslims in British universities and colleges to carry out terrorist attacks in this country, leaked Whitehall documents reveal.
A network of “extremist recruiters” is circulating on campuses targeting people with “technical and professional qualifications”, particularly engineering and IT degrees.

G8

Salaam

With other events that also ocurred this week, this summit has almost been forgotten.

What are your opinions on it?

Apparently there was some talk of debt cancellation for some sub saharan countries, talk on the environment where the US was not willing to relent until the measures also applied to third world countries (even though US produces doubling in aid and a possibility of fair(er) trade. There was also upto $3BN pledged for the Palestinian Authority.

Until any of this is delivered, it is still a pipe dream.

One Quran a minute being requested in America

Found this on another forum:

US interest in the Muslim holy book Koran has risen after reports of its mishandling at Guantanamo Bay, a Muslim charity has said in Washington.

The Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) said it had received over 5,000 requests for free copies over the last two weeks.

One copy was being requested almost every minute, it said.

Reports of the Koran's mishandling led to violent anti-US protests last month.

Would You Marry YOU?

One of the first things that most people think about when preparing for or thinking about marriage, are the characteristics or qualities of the person they would like to marry. Some people think about how they want their potential husband or wife to look - perhaps they think about such things as hair and skin color. Some men may look for a wife who is an excellent cook, and some women may look for a husband who is very religious.

Think outside of yourself for a moment: If you were someone else, would you marry you?

Faith-based Schools

The education secretary angers secular groups by pledging £500m to rebuild faith-based schools, including only two Muslim schools. There are over half a million Muslim children in British schools where bilingualism and Islamic Identity is totally neglected. In history lessons, Muslim contributions to European learning and culture are never mentioned.

Muslim scholars move to curb fatwas
Muslim scholars move to curb fatwas

The Muslim world's top scholars have agreed that fatwas, or religious edicts, should only be issued by clerics with religious authority.

The move is meant to weaken statements by figures involved in fighting in Iraq who ordain violence.

The three-day meeting in Amman, which ended on Wednesday, has for the first time gathered representatives of eight Sunni and Shia Muslim schools of thought.

They all also agreed that followers cannot label other Muslims as "apostates", something groups in Iraq have done to justify attacks against Ir

London Terror Attacks

well it seems there have been multiple blasts there today.

I feel for all the dead, their families and friends.

Please read The Revival Press Release. I agree with it and am not repeating those points in this post.

Barring coincidence what who could have done it?

The possibilities:

1. Al Qaeda related
2. Anarchists related to the G8
3. IRA angry at being forcefully sidelined in N.I
4. Gov to push ID cards through.
5.
