Trust In Allah, But Tie Your Camel

Salaam

How much should we trust in Allah (swt)? And how much should we do our bit? And how fatalistic should we be as Muslim?

I know that if I wanted to pass some test I should pray to Allah (swt), revise and then sit the test…that’s “tying your camel”

But sometimes I wonder how much I should “do” and how “fatalistic” I should be..?

Allah (swt) has also said that he “does not change men's condition unless they change their inner selves”.

Right from Wrong

Assalamu-Alaikum broz n sistaz

On sunday i went to the global peace n unity conference
n overall i had a gud tym n refrained myself from doin things which i was asked of,
but near the end wen i had nothin 2 do n somethin came up my mind went blank n i did somethin which I wernt supposed to do.
Whilst i was committing this wrong thing i knew deep down that its not right yet i didn have the strenght to move myself away.
My inner faith felt so weak n i felt as if someone had taken my heart out and locked it up in a small box.
I have prayed for forgiveness but still dnt feel better coz ev

Money, Money, Money

This is sumin I'm always getting into trouble over

Daddy gives us monthy pocket money-(i.e. it should last a month)

I spend it in 1 week

My motto has always been-if u have money then spend it-if u dont then do without

I NEVER ask people for money-if I need sumin (aprt frm sis)

I always get into trouble for not saving it

SAVE IT FOR WHAT?

Muslims, The West and the media

In the Global Unity event Imran Khan did an excellent speech saying the west has conspired its people to turn against Muslims. One guy even suggested that this was world war three!!! I remember on Omrows 9/11 anniversary thread Admin put Omrow straight by saying it was just a terrorist attack (like the one in Oklahoma) and told him not to differentiate it by saying it was “done by Muslims”. I remember Dave was quick to say “stop this not Islam fault!” and his post also said “you must know your enemy”.

[b]Santa Myth Exposed: Muslim 2nd Grader Ruins Christmas for Entire Class

BOSTON, MA - After the events that transpired here last week, Ms. Johnsons' second grade classroom will never be the same.

"We were making cardboard cutouts for the school's holiday musical when all of a sudden, I hear Adnan telling everyone that Santa Claus isn't real," stated Ms. Johnson in reference to Adnan Sami, one of her seven-year old students.

School Days

I was just wondering what people thought of their school life and whether it help them as individual. I can tell we have quite a few school kids on the forum nowadays as well.

I personally think there something seriously worng with schooling today, i can't believe how i manage to leave school with Qualifications, my whole day involved playing cards and reading the newspapers. Same can be said of formal education as a whole even after school.

But the thing that worry me is, how little impact 12 year of schooling can have on idividual, the teacher were out of touch when i was there and the fact that it so thoery based, is too the disadvantage of many IMO.
