Teaching assistant sacked after objecting to showing graphic 9/11 footage to students taking school to tribunal

Have you heard about the one where a (Muslim) teaching assistant was sacked after raising an objection toshowing special needs students a video from youtube of people jumping from buildings on 9/11 - a video which was labeled as for adults only by Youtube’s filters?

I am not sure though whether it is a good idea for her to reject the settlement as UK law is often something that uses money to settle disagreements.

Tower Hamlets schoolgirl removed from family over "radicalisation"

There have been a few recently about a judge's ruling about the radicalisation of a from Tower Hamlets by her family.

Theresa May’s Humiliating Radio 4 Interview on ‘Extremism’

Above is an embarrassing interview Theresa May gave this morning on BBC Radio 4, about Prime Minister David Cameron’s new measures to counter what he calls “Extremism”, by giving more powers to the state to restrict the movement and speech of those who express opinions that are legal yet considered ‘radical’.

Theresa becomes visibly disturbed and discomforted when the interviewer, John Humphrys, poses the most elementary challenge: what does she mean by ‘extremists’?

Muslim schools/institutions is not where to look for extremism

It has now been a while that the politicised OFSTED has been looking to combat "Islamic extremism" in schools etc. They started off being critical of schools with 90+% muslim students not offering a "christian-style prayer" in the morning, and ended up alleging that a Christian church of England school was putting its students at risk of Islamic Extremism.

An issue that is often ignored is where does this extremism come from, where does it gain strength and who does it effect.

Many non Muslims consider extermism to be when Muslims go too deep into their religion. Its an understandable view for non Muslims because non Islamic books of scripture have been corrupted and there are extreme things in them.

But Islam is different.

Crimes In The Name Of God

Author:
Mark Goodrem

My views on the Woolwich atrocity are exactly the same as the vast majority of the UK population - they are that of utter shock and disgust.  The thought that in this day and age people are STILL carrying out these crimes in the name of religion and their “God” is just beyond belief and to this day I still refuse to believe that any religion would sanction this.

I personally believe that this is used as an excuse in today’s society and a way of trying to justify what has been done and what people plan to do. I challenge anyone to read any religious scriptures and highlight where in those pages, it tells you to carry out these crimes in the name of God.

Editorial: What Have We Learnt From Woolwich?

Author:
Sajid Iqbal

Just when you thought terror and extremism in the name of religion in Britain had finally died down, it reared its ugly head in Woolwich, which shocked and disgusted the nation. Two crackpots committing a horrific murder happened to be Muslims and apparently did this barbaric act in the name of Islam.
