Another Palestinian dies at army roadblock in West Bank

Occupied Jerusalem: (IAP News) - Another Palestinian, a woman aged 48, today died of her illness when zionist occupation soldiers manning a roadblock near Jenin, in the northern West Bank, denied the woman access to hospital.

Palestinian sources said Amira Nasr Abu Zeid died of coronary arrest at the Jalameh roadblock, near Jenin when zionist occupation soldiers refused to allow the car to pass, which was taking her to hospital in Jenin, on the grounds that the road was a closed military zone.

The sources said the car was kept waiting for two hours before an Israeli soldier told the driver that he ought to return because the road was closed.

The driver testified that the soldiers warned him that they would shoot him if he dared drive on, saying "the woman may die in the car."

On Tuesday, another Palestinian, identified as Na'im Abed Bani Jame', aged 39, died at an Israeli army roadblock under similar circumstances.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli occupation soldiers barred the ambulance which was taking Jame' to hospital, thwarting efforts to save his life.

Since the beginning of the Palestinian revolt against the zionist military occupation, as many as thirty Palestinians died at zionist occupation army roadblocks, mainly as a result of being denied access to roads leading to hospitals.
