The thing is his family is Muslim, why does he adopt this line that he spent years letting evangelists in and finally found Islam? And why does he say "before 9/11 and all the anti-Muslim propaganda" but not make clear in his video that a lot of those "twisted quotes" are brought by people who also say they are Muslim and respond on that, since the whole story is "hey Islam is about reflection and worship and I'm a cool scientist"? Is he fronting?
There might be a good answer, it's an honest question and I only know what Wikipedia said about his background.

Not sure if it is an American thing where they overreact and such but I thought that that was not especially kind to others, but at the same time I do not know his history (and didn't even know he was a convert until I heard him answer a convert question a while back or something).
