The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

One thing I’ve found with practising Sufism is that it’s difficult to maintain.

Sometimes when things get so busy you have stuff on your mind…it’s SO hard to keep Dhikr alive in your heart and mind.

It’s hard when things are hectic to just put some time aside every night to contemplate (Muraqaba)….its hard to sometimes scrutinise ones character and actions when there are other things on the mind.

Its missions getting up for Fajr let alone Tahajud and reading Qur’an at a time where the mercy of Allah (swt) descends to the lowest heaven.

This is why it is said that the REAL Sufi is the one who buys, sells, meets others, visits the markets etc but never forgets Allah (swt) for a single second.

Wasalaam

Muslim Sister well of course that is the whole point – the Sufi lives and breathes he participates and is vital to society whilst all the while his heart and soul and mind are dead to the attractions and foibles of this world.

He is integral to society never abandoning it but instead embracing it whilst his inner being is consumed with love for his Beloved.

If you were to ask your innermost self what you desire the most, what consumes you above all else what would the answer be?

If it be the Beloved then all else will fall into place inshallah.

Salaam

That is one very important concept of sufism that I love, is the attempt to have a constant remberance of Allah swt, that and teh constant striving to be closer to Allah swt. I seen people waiting in a long line for something and still doing dhikr, no minute is wasted in the ibadah of allah swt. It doesn't seem like they take anything for granted, which is a trap i fall into, like after Isha i tend to just chill and switch off. I guess it help you not see Islam as a routine as it can at time. I know it something i need to work on personally.

Yeah I've come across such people too.

But on the flip side have you come across those people with a tasbi in their hands and their eyes glued to a soap on the Telly?

using dhikr beads is shirk and biddah, bilal philips sed the sahaba never used them....

Yeah i seen them, plus the people who in deep converstaion with someone and still being doing it. I remember hearing Hamza Yusuf saying that there isn't a minute where there isn't a opportunity to remeber Allah swt, but some people to try to apply it in some funny situations.

Fine, hypothetically speaking, lets say, The Sahaba RA didn't use the zhikr beads.

How are they shirk? Please explain?

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.

Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes

The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts[/url]"]Political peace is related to social stability. When a society reaches stability, it becomes fast and firm, free from violence and disharmony. In the religious context, however, peace signifies firmness in spiritual status and stability in the Right Path (magham). In Sufi terminology, maqham (spiritual station) denotes the inner permanent realization of a spiritual status.

A wayfarer reaches a certain station only when he is through with his spiritual journey on the path of talveen (a stage of capriciousness and constant shifting of states). Stations are innumerable and a wayfarer has to tread further towards higher stations closer to the ultimate goal beyond which there is no path. Such a traveller will not revert to former states in which confusions and disturbances are abundant.

Once fast and firm in a higher spiritual station, the wayfarer attains freedom from the harm and evils of the lower stations. Freedom is the essence of peace. That is why the German word for peace, friede, means the free, das Frye, and fry means preserved from harm and danger, preserved from something, safeguarded. To free really means to spare. The sparing itself consists not only in the fact that we do not harm the one whom we spare. Real sparing is something positive and takes place when we leave something beforehand in its own nature, when we return it specifically to its being, when we free it in the real sense of the word into a preserve of peace. To dwell, to be set at peace, means to remain at peace within the free, the preserve, the free sphere that safeguards each thing in its nature. The fundamental character of dwelling is this sparing and preserving.

Judda has already received punishment of a detention today for posting here in defiance of school rules. I urge all Revival members to act in his best interest and support Judda in paying attention to the task in hand.

So, anything not decreed by even the weakest Hadith should not be touched?

i'm afraid to say this but Bilal philips often loses his mind and says some weird things i've seen it happen live on telly - sorry Judda, though we may not be stable ourselves we should at least take stable and sane teachers for our divine guidance
