Would You Censor Your Husband/Wife?

a lady down my road is always argueing with her husband

thats cos he's a driving instructer and teaches girls

she only has an issue with the pretty girls he teaches

is she paraniod or does she have a reason to be jealous?

i know being mates with boys is wrong but AFTER marraige its MORE wrong

the same should apply to men-they also shouldnt be mates with girls after marraige

would you ever censor or ban ur husband/wife?

would u not allow them to teach/work with members of opposite sex?

or would u let them work/teach the ugly ones but not the good looking ones

to what extent is censorship justified? BEARING in mind that we live in the West-not Saudi

(cavemen need not both reply)

Ugly people get up to no good as well.

I personally think that one professional that should be segerated, as it is very personal kind of atmsphere that a person learns in. I don't think the woman is being unreasonable, I sure if the situation was the other way round the man wouldn't accept his wife doing it. But that just my opinion.

driving instructor is an extreme example

but what about generally when guys/girls work/study in mixed environments

should husbands/wives have an issue with this

it depends on how honest ur relationship is and how much u trust one another.. jealousy ruins a relationship and sumtimes to amke the other hapi u gotta let them do wat they want if it makes them hapi.

I suppose it is all about trust... but that's a Christian perspective.

Islam really appears to place a high emphasis on avoiding sin, that's why you have shariah laws (well one of the reasons) segregation in certain instances etc. Thus it is perfectly reasonable for a wife to demand her keep her husband away from pretty young girls.

From a Christian perspective we place a high emphasis on choosing God, thus there should be choices - this is of course within reason, nobody can live in a lawless society. But a matter such as this requires the wife to trust her husband more, if she feels too unnerved about it she should tell her husband and then it should be his duty to stop if he respects and loves his wife.

Give and take.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to “censor” your husband/wife. A person should be clued up on the difference between what is right and wrong…others shouldn’t have to point out the obvious.

It must be annoying babying others.

Regarding work….

If a person HAS to talk to members of the opposite sex cos of work/study, I don’t see anything wrong with it at all….it doesn’t matter if they’re pretty or ugly.

Flirting/being “matey” with one another etc is wrong.

If work/study means that they have to ring one another or chat on msn then I don’t see anything wrong with that either.

But what IS wrong is when this is done secretively….if someone feels the need to “hide” their phone calls/texts messages etc then that proves that they’re guilty.

Husbands/wives should be honest with one another….fill each other in regularly about who they speak to and what was discussed…..

Most of the guys who I work with in the Mosque ring me up at home and I chat to them in front of my parents….if I was secretive about my phone calls then obviously my parents have a reason to be suspicious…..

One only does stuff undercover if they’re in the wrong….

Sometimes jealousy is justified and sometimes its not....but a husband/wife shouldnt really give one another a reason to feel jealous either.

nah i wouldnt stop her from working in a mixed environment, if you have a wife you can trust (and equally she should aslo be able to trust you)....cant see the problem

regarding friends.......well my mind might change later, but i wouldnt stop them providing i know the friends as well and they can be trusted. but thats jus me

He dances with ecstasy and delight.

girls and boys cant be mates

more so after marraige

husband and wife should be mates

they shouldnt need anyone else

tellthat woman to learn how to teach driving.

then she can teach the women, he can teach the men.

segregation is all good, but it has needs.

such as capablemen and women in all fields.

If there is no female doctor, you see a male doctor...

if there is not female instructor, women see a male instructor.

It is all about demand.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

When I was expecting my son, I asked at the local hospital if it was possible to have midwifery led care, then I could have female carers all the way through the pregnancy - they'd only bring in a doc if absolutely necessary. They said they couldn't guarantee it, so I went to a hospital further away where I was OFFERED midwifery led care, without needing to ask. When I needed a doctor, I was seen for screenings by either male or female, but exams were done by females only. Luckily for me, I had a Muslim midwife who held my hand and recited dhikr with me all the way through the end stage labour.

So, in short - you're right Yash, we need to ask, we need to get up and go find someone, driving instructors, doctors, dentists, etc. of our own gender. There ARE plenty out there, we just have to stop being lazy and complacent and making excuses for not bothering.

i disagree

i dont think there is anything "embarassing" about asking for a lady doctor/instructer etc

but we cant ignore the fact that there IS a shortage of women in the workforce

my local GP is male so are most of the oncall GP's

on some nights my baby sister who has astma is rushed to the hospital to casualty

she is ALWAYS seen by a male docter

mainly cos at that time and hour mainly only male doctors are around-

and when a person is in a threatning situation you cant waste time

i know she is only 7 so i doesnt matter who see's her-BUT when she gets older it will be a issue

say-a woman has had an accident and is unconcious and the ambulence people end up being male....do we have time to waste by asking for a female?

OF COURSE we should ask-and shouldnt be "embarrassed or lazy" about it

but no one can deny the clear shortage of women in such professional work places

slaam
MuslimSisLilSis is absolutely right.....we need more women working in proffesional jobs such as doctors and dentists etc.....especially muslim....like aphrodite said having a muslim midwife helped her....it could help all those people who would prefer to see a muslim doc if possible...

if you trust your husband and wife you would not then have a problem wid them working with people of the opposite sex
