Just curious as to how you came across her and her songs?

And why you would like them?? Especially if they were mostly around in the 80's?

Without wishing to overstate my case I explained it very simply. She was not afraid to cut across social boundaries to make everyone human again. Who in music has that appeal today? Who is a comparable icon?
