Are there people with no ego? Or really small ones? Because it looks possible to change the above characteristics.
Soubds a bit like the islamic nafs. Not thst i know much about it.
So what are the theories about ego? If you let go of it or push it back, only then can you be a useful part of society no? (i kinda just made that up...)
The problem with ego is that its at it biggest when you don't think you have any.
