It's all getting too much.

We all think about stuff, worry about the who/what/where/when/why's, sometimes it's rational, sometimes the situation is controllable; changeable.

Other times we can't do anything about it, or we're over-thinking and worrying unnecessarily. Like when you leave the house empty and you think "those people who were watching you get out the house will rob your house" (someone said that to me today! lol)

During those times the best thing to do is stop worrying.

I've said "It's hard to switch off your emotions" and "you can't just stop!".

But that's not true.

You can do things to take your mind off it, keep yourself busy, but that isn't facing the problem.

You can do some , get closer and relieve yourself like that.

But something I found more powerful than that, is what I heard in this great , the Shaykh mentioned that Aisha (RA) said

?"I swear by Allah, none of you can be a true believer until his trust in Allah is stronger than that which he has in the palm of his hand"

That means putting your trust in Allah (swt) more than in the things/people you can see, putting your FULL trust in Allah (Swt).

Yeh, ofcourse I know I should do that, but that reminder came just when I needed it. You know when you're lying there and can't go to sleep cuz you're minds thinking about all this stuff? (why does it come up with a bunch of crazy worst case scenarios instead of something nice and comforting? :/) Well yeah, I was having one of those moments and when I heard that quote I literally told myself "Ok, I'm going to put my trust in Allah(swt)"

I know this sounds weird and ridiculous, but I was lying there '"chanting" [in my head] "I put my trust in you".

And you know what? It solved my problem. It made me feel stronger, gave me a sense of security, it 'refreshed' my belief and trust in Allah (swt) and I just knew everything was going to be alright. However things turn out, Allah (swt) is the best of planners - so its gna be all good!

And that allowed me to go sleep comfortably...

So I end my blog quoting Truth's_Razors

Lol firstly thanks for quoting moi, superrrrstarrr! ("I'd like to thank my family and friends... all i want is World Peace")

Trust in Allah, full trust.. it's something that i've been thinking about a lot recently actually. Find myself sort of saying it but not feeling it sometimes but I'm going to try the 'chanting' next time, perhaps it'll work for me too. Dhikr is great except when shaytaan whispers in your ear telling you that you've got something to do which results in you neglecting it and not fixing the problem.

Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)

scary stuff...

thinking about how much we need Allah really makes me scared and sad...but its a comfort at the end of the day. When you think, He truly is the ONLY one who will ever be able to keep His promises, He's the only one who can look after you and comfort you and make you feel better.

Dhikr and remembering that it is Allah who is doing all of this and He is the one in control of everything, that really takes a burden off, gives you somewhere to discharge all your responsibilities, even for just a while.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Jazakallah khair for this reminder.

You are truly at peace with everything when you put your full trust in Allah(swt)

You know whatever happens is in the hands of Allah and Allah only does that please him.

That is why i learnt to say alhamdulillah no matter what happens cause everything happens for a reason and there is a blessing in everything.

May Allah gude us all. Ameen

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest"

Somebody reminded me I wrote this. Coincidently, just when I needed to be reminded! Alhamdulillah.

A dua I came across last Ramadhan, and semi-learnt, which I think goes with this:

Allahumma rahmataka arju fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'aynin wa aslih li sha'ni kullahu la ilaha ila anta

O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for a blink of an eye, and rectify for me all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshiped except You.

Does everyone need to know duas in arabic?

#Before you look at the thorns of the rose , look at it's beauty. Before you complain about the heat of the sun , enjoy it's light. Before you complain about the blackness of the night, think of it's peace and quiet... #

You can do dua in whatever language you want.

(edit) The best duas are the ones from the Quran and sunnah. I think they can be said using the English translation for the same effect, but I'm not entirely sure.
