Are we in control of our decisions?

of course we are in control.

(haven't watched the video)

Well, watch the video then. it asks some really good questions, and shows how asking a question in a slightly different way makes a big difference.

I must say though, if I get the feeling that I am getting sold to, I try to do the opposite of what is requested - even if the opposite is self destructive.

No, he puts people in controlled situations to see how they react to certain stimuli.

I thought this talk was very good, there's another one of his on the same website, which is on a similar theme. It's good too!

Don't just do something! Stand there.

The one about ? Yup, interesting.

As for this one, even if it is the manipulation of data to see how people react, its still interesting as that is what happens in the real world. He is only showing how we may not be totally in control of what we decide to do/react simply because of how the choice is presented to us.
