Is your Faith Strong enough to listen to other views on Religion?
I came across a U-Tube video with Stephen Fry being asked question on RTE about what will happen when he dies and does God exist.
He raised some issues that made one think. The usually questions, Why does God allow bad things to happen? Also if God did exist and was so perfect he could have done a better job of it.
Next I came across a U-Tube video countering is, Stephen Fry’s argument, which is also a Humanist argument. But from a Muslim viewpoint, that I found interesting
To balance these arguments I came across a debate from a mainly Christian viewpoint. The original discussion was about Humanism Weddings. They have been allowed in Scotland, but have been vetoed in England. Should humanists have equal rights to religions?
I digress a little but there was article on divorce and marriage in Islam, which may or not have some bearing. As I understand it in Britain there three ways to get married.
Religious Ceremonies and State Marriages [Register Office] Or one can just live together under a common law perspective. From what I have learned most Muslim marriages, whilst if carried in a Mosque and are accepted by the Muslim Community, but are rarely registered in Civil Law. Would it not be of some benefit to the Muslim Community [especially woman] if all marriage unions were registered under Civil Law.
Lastly I came across a U-Tube video called “Is God the problem?” Were there was a very good discussion on the pros and cons about God and Religion or lack of, I found it an hour worth spending.
