More than 10m female births in India may have been lost to abortion and sex selection in the past 20 years, according to medical research.

Researchers in India and Canada for the Lancet journal said prenatal selection and selective abortion was causing the loss of 500,000 girls a year.

Their research was based on a national survey of 1.1m households in 1998.

The researchers said the "girl deficit" was more common among educated women but did not vary according to religion.

The title says it all.

I would have expected either some people to have been caught who helped the bombers, or some suspects. If not that an enquiry into what happend.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

To me it is starting to sound like some sort of cover-up.

when asked, the authorities always point to how they have caught the four people caught over 21/7. That is unrelated, and most likely a copycat attempt, or a hoax. No professional would get it so wrong. and the guy who went to Italy, and got extradited back mentioned how it was fireworks...

The former U.S. Ambassador to India, John Dean, has accused Israel of being behind the assassination of Pakistan President General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq in 1988.

Dean made the allegation in an article in the World Policy Journal. He said he believed the attack was carried out by Mossad, Israel's intelligence service.

It happened on August 17 1988. Pak One, Pakistan's equivalent of Air Force One, took off from a military air base outside of Bahawalpur in the late afternoon.

2. In Gaza the Palestinians do not seem to be doing themseles any favours whatsoever. They have [url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4580316.stm]stormed[/url] the border, The Alqasa martyrs brigade have fired bullets, and their leader is accused of asterminding the kidnapping of the three britons.

The chaos continue. On both sides.

European Gas Crisis

This is getting very interesting.

Some background: Russia sells cheap gas to forver soviet countries that toe its line. Ukraine used to, but since 2004 has become more west-centric.

Russia used to sell gas at £50.00 for 1000 cubic metres, but has demanded the 'market price' of £230.00, which is over 4 times as high. The price was to be effective new years day. Ukraine refused to pay anything above £80.00. Russia has noe severed its gas pipelines supplying Ukraine. Ukraine needs gas.

What do you lot think of men wearing jewelery?

Not ear studs, but things like chains or rings?

If I know someone who starts going down that line, I cannot help but comment to them. Slightly mockingly about closets etc.

IMO men should not wear jewelery

Eid Ul Adha (1426 AH)

Next year (2006 CE)there will potentially be two Eidul Adha's, so i have gone by the Islamic year for the title.

According to [url=http://www.moonsighting.com/]MoonSighting.com[/url], Eid will most likely be on 11 January.

Place all reports about when Eid is below.

Since Eid Ul Adha is on the tenth of a month, we should know within the next couple of days exactly when it is.

Us muslims go through alot of turmoil over the dates of eid.
