Guide to Umrah

Salaam

Are there any good online guides to doing the Umrah?

My main question is all the prayers during tawaaf, sa'ee, etc... are they compulsory, or just recommended?

and how hard is it to keep the ihram on? especially on the journey, going through crowds, carrying luggage etc...

Palaver

I seem to revel in it. Especially on here. (in real life I generally prefer to observe instead...)

Part of it is the need to drive conversation. Part of it is to just have a little amusement.

I am now approaching the 10,000 post mark. When is it too much?

IslamOnline

What on earth have they done to their site?

Used to visit it for news quite often. Just had another look, and well... even 'Ed can design better than that! (and you should see some of the howlers The Revival has been through...)

(1998 called. It wants it's design back!)

7cgen - who are they?

And why are they called that?

It is supposed to be "seventh century generation Muslims" or something. No idea where the seventh century bit came from.

They have a website (its in showkat's signature which really do struggle to navigate), even an official video!

And someone has suggested to me that we have lost a lot of posters to them.

Iran Fined $2.65 Billion for Terrorism
Iran Fined $2.65 Billion for Terrorism

Iran must pay $2.65 billion to the families of the 241 U.S. service members killed in the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, a federal judge declared Friday in a ruling that left survivors and families shedding tears of joy.

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth described his ruling as the largest-ever such judgment by an American court against another country.

Forgiveness.

How forgiving are you?

We are taught that a patient man is a faithful man; one with taqwa and humility. The ability to forgive is a sign of great patience and submission, in that those who forgive shed the desire to dispense justice themselves and leaves the fate of their transgressors entirely, consciously, in the hands of Allaah ta'ala.

So, how forgiving are you?

Do you 'let bygones be bygones' or are you more likely to hold a grudge?

Iran 'reaches key nuclear goal'

First, let me say I was wrong. I did not think there would be an Iran around this time.

Iran has met a key target for its nuclear programme and now has 3,000 centrifuges enriching uranium, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said.

Mr Ahmadinejad said Iran would continue its drive in spite of UN sanctions.

Enriched uranium can be used for power stations but also for nuclear bombs. The West has accused Iran of trying to develop weapons - a charge Iran denies.

A BBC correspondent says there is some scepticism about Iran's claim, with the UN believing it is short of the 3,000.
