Life after Ramadan

This ramadan has taught me something very special and I have never looked at ramadan this way before. See ramadan now resembles a sign of love from Allah Almighty for his people especially His sinful people. Why do you ask? Well see in ramadan the satans are all chained away, the mercy, forgiveness and freedom from punishment of Hell are at their pinnacle point. All this shows me the love and extreme mercy of Allah Almighty, I feel that Allah Almighty is saying to us,

"Oh people in the past eleven months you tried to get close to me but the satan has stopped you, but look what I have done for you, I have locked them away come to me, gain my proximity, look I am waiting for you, now nothing is stopping you from getting close to Me."

Also ramadan resembles the love the Holy Prophet (SAW) has for his ummah, because laila-tul-Qadr (Night of Power) is equivalent to 1000 months, so whatever good deeds you do, give charity, the reward for your worships will be equivalent to that of a 1000 months. To me it feels as though Holy Prophet (SAW) knew that his ummah will be short on their good deeds and will be pulled towards the worldly desires so he (SAW) asked Allah Almighty to give us a special night where we can do our worships and get a great reward so that our good deeds will not fall short on the day of Judgement.

Keeping all this in mind, I am striving to be a better person and before doing anything I think would this make Allah Almighty and my Beloved Prophet (SAW) happy?

That way you are saved from a lot of sins.

THROUGH LOVE all that is bitter will be sweet.
Through Love all that is copper will be gold.
Through Love all dregs will turn to purest wine.
Through Love all pain will turn to medicine.
Through Love the king will turn into a slave!

suppose that depends on what they are, and if you actively tried to break that habbit during ramadan. I've managed to stop cursing alot whilst driving coz of ramadan. But thats road rage... but it still counts.

I for one am proud to say that I feel this ramdhan I may have finally made a break mashallah!

REMEMBER ----- only after determination will you suceed!
and if at first you dont succeed try try and try again...(hope that doesnt sound cheesy)

I received nothing I wanted
I received everything I needed.
My Prayer has been answered.

I hate the feeling you get after ramadhan. You quickly go back too ur own way. You also miss that feeling that is amoung everyone during ramadhan, where everyone is that extra bit spiritual. That why it reccomended to fast I think 6 days in the month straight after so it isn't restricted to the month of ramadhan only.

I hate this feeling too...

One so strongly feels the decrease in mercy..and spirituality. It's a depressing feeling.

I keep on telling myself that I need to keep the six Shawwal fasts but I just can't bring myself to do it...

It so much easier to fast in Ramadan.

yeh its easier to fast cuz you have more "will" power then(no satan and no muslims eatin around you).....i miss getin up for sehri even though that was one of the hardest things for me, i felt i gained more from last years Ramadan but for some reason i am missing Ramadan more so this yr.

Yeah the problem start on Eid for me, I alway struggle to fit my namaaz in, where in ramadhan i used to work around my namaaz time. But it is a generally as well, you lose some of the brotherhood that existed in ramadhan, you have 10 time less people coming to read namaaz and no group iftar, In ramadhan it the only time my whole family sit down and eat together. It also despressing to how some people can switch off so easily as well. Because as soon as ramadhan finish they back too their old ways and all the hope you had in ramadhan for them disappears as well. It a pity.

aye ive noticed a lot of that, people back to 'normal'

mind you, for some, it was the same in ramadhan unfortunately

the 6 fast sof shawwal..........must they be kept straight after eid day? that one day or 2 or 3?

i fasted the 2nd day after eid, so thats sunday for me. 3rd one done now alhamdulillah

is that ok to miss that 1st day after eid day?

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

Six Days of Shawwal & Sunnah Fasting

Aboo Ayyoob al-Ansaaree narrated Prophet Muhummad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), said "He who fasts Ramadhaan, and six of Shawwaal, it will be (in terms of rewards) as if the fasted a whole year." (Muslim)

One of the ways to in showing our loving of Allah, by following the Prophet Muhummad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is to do those acts that he (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) advised his Companions, and the Ummah in general, to do. A sunnah which is certainly relevant to us in these days is his (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) practice to fast six days in the month of Shawwal.
When to Fast?

Fast 6 days consecutively following Eid-ul-Fitr as soon as you can.
If you are unable to, fast 6 days consecutively during anytime of the month.
If you are unable to fast consecutively, fast any 6 days during Shawwal.
