Billboard at Uhud Gravesite and Women Forbidden Contradiction

Salam aleykum,
I have a question on a hadith I saw at the site of Uhud and I was wondering if anyone can explain it to me.

At the gravesite of Uhud there is a big and blue billboard (you can't miss it) with a hadith from at-Tirmidhi which says:

"The Messenger of Allah s.a.w.s. cursed women who visit graves."

Apart from the discussion we can have on why this big billboard is there and what negative thoughts it evokes about Saudia-Arabia and the treatment of women there in general etc., I was wondering if any knows the authenticity of this hadith. This is one issue.

Conditions of the last British Guantanomo detainee

Watch the video report here

Friends of the last Briton to be held at Guantanamo Bay, which opened 10 years ago on Wednesday, say his health is deteriorating under the pressure.

His lawyer says the conditions at the US prison in Cuba where Shaker Aamer, from Wandsworth, has been detained for the last decade without trial are "awful".

He's being punished because he complains of not havign a trial and has not been found guilty! How long is it gna take for him to be released :/ Why can't they just let him go?! ARGHHHHHH

Capitalism

Does capitalism have any place in Islam?

Well I'm guessing it does, since most Muslims live in capitalists countries and I remember the trade businesses etc mentioned in the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) biography. But it just feels wrong that so much power and wealth is held at the top. Oh and all the promotion of materialism. :S

I'm thinking very Marxist-like today. Evil capitalism. (Though communism definitely isn't the answer)

Blitz on Families Raking in Benifits

ALMOST 200 families with 10 or more children each get £60,000 a year in hand-outs, new figures reveal.

These huge broods in workless households are costing taxpayers nearly £12million a year.

The figures, released by the Department for Work and Pensions, will fuel fears that some welfare scroungers are having large families simply to increase their state-funded incomes.

They revealed that a workless family with 10 children under the age of 18 could receive around £1,177-a-week in benefits by claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, Child Tax Credits, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit and Child Benefit. This adds up to £61,204 a year.

And last night ministers vowed to continue to crack down on the lavish expenditure by capping benefits for all households at a maximum of £500 a week

5 Muslims in court over anti-gay leaflet.

A group of Muslim men publicly distributed a leaflet calling for gay people to be given the death sentence, a court has heard.

The pamphlet was entitled The Death Penalty? and showed an image of a mannequin hanging from a noose. It said sodomy was a sin that led to hell, that it used to be punished by hanging, and that people practising and allowing homosexuality would suffer, the court was told.

Im working on a project if succesful it will be published as a book inshallah.

I've always thought there isn't a book out there where young Muslims can turn to who are turning to Islam or beginning to understand stuff they are confused with etc.. and if it is its not widely acvailable.

Whether at school, college or uni. whether in prison or in your late 30's etc.... and even something that parents/elders can refer to when answering/guiding younger ppl/kids/relatives etc...

Everytime I chat with young ppl it always questions on arrivals, marriage, beard, sects, black magic, 2 eids, mosques, imams, madhabs, boy/girlfriends, etc etc....

Imam al-Shafi Complaining about Memory Loss

Often times as students of knowledge we set our goals in terms of Ayāt and Abyāt, or how many verses and lines of text to memorize. It is easier to gauge our progress by taking measure of how much we have memorized. In times of distress or confusion regarding what to do in our lives, it is natural to seek out the counsel of trusted scholars and supplicating to Allah to remove the distress from us.

However is there anything else that we can focus on in our daily lives that can limit what we are caused to forget of the Qur’ān or Ahādīth? Is there anything we can do every day that will open our heart and intellect and make them better receptacles for knowledge?
