Yep, i think i'll be watching that!

Did anyone watch it?

It was interesting but there were lots of things that was not Islamic. Such as shaking hands between opposite sexes, and the dancing of women in front of men (the hijabis were abit rowdy at the henna and wedding don't you think?)

The men were pervy at Peaches, staring at her and getting too friendly.

I don't think Peaches was the right girl to go to Morocco as she says whatever comes out of her mouth without thinking. She used the f*** word and blatently said other things which were rude.

I have no doubt that non-muslims were watching this programme and I think the ending (especially the part about jinns and sufis) shouldn't have been shown, as the programme was called "The Beginner's Guide to Islam" and I think jinns and sufis was abit too much for people who wanted to know the basics of Islam.

Modesty gowns for female patients

A gown designed for female Muslim patients who wish to preserve their modesty for religious reasons is being introduced to hospitals in Lancashire.

The £12 outfits - made in Yorkshire - cover the entire head, neck and body, leaving just a slot for the eyes.

The burqua-style gowns come with trousers, two styles of head-dress and elasticated cuffs to prevent women's arms from being revealed.

They will be available to patients at in Chorley and Preston from November.

The gowns were trialled at Royal Preston Hospital and proved so successful that a number of other NHS Trusts have also expressed an interest in offering them.

I watched it, I don't think Morocco was the best place for them to go or rather the area they went to. Again Peaches, she came across as an immature kid, but what I found ironic was she was a model and was expected to cover up obv. she would find this concept of hijab "sad" (in her words) because she liked the thought of showing her beauty.

Nadira (muslim girl in prog. whom Peaches spent a few days with) was saying how hijab is used to cover one up and guard a girls beauty but this wasn't observed when they were at the wedding whilst the groom was sitting there and the camera's on them with millions of people viewing them :?

Also I was well ticked off with the fact those pathetic disgustin pieces of rubbish were shouting out Fatima and later Nadira told her that they are referring to the daughter of the Holy Prophet (saw). If that was the case the most appropriate thing for those pervs to do was lower their gaze with respect, but they were whistling and making gestures.

However, later Peaches asked from another Muslim girl. how do you know God exists, and the other girl replied referring to Peaches reference to love, that how do you know love exists, you can't touch love, you can't quantify it etc. I liked the way she explained it but could have gone a little more in depth.

As for that jinn thing, that's not part of sufism, you aint told to spend 25 years if you must in order for the jinn to let you go, found that dead weird :?

Overall, I didn't think it was a great insight to the basics of Islam, a few comments here and there were good but I don't really think it grasped the true concept of Islam.

In regards to M bro second post, I think having a gown in hospital that covers you up properly is cool however having a gown with only eyes showing :?

absolutely rubbish programme... the poor sister was not up to scratch, poor english and didnt really do a good job...
peaches was a normal british teenager, she behaved and spoke as any other...i dont blame her... i blame people who ar etrying to represent Islam when they are not up to it. only thing that came across was : islam is strict, sexist, all about prayers, kill animals inhumanely, men are pervey, they do spooky stuff in a cave.....

it was a big let down

Yup have to agree wid all of the above, it was absoulty crap, showed islam in a bad way...
They shudnt have called it "The Beginners guide to islam", they shud have called it "The Morrocan way" or sumthing cz thats what it was...

They should have a good long think before they air stuff like this on national televison, they show islam in a bad lime light when actaully it isnt islam but the culture of certain people.

I don't think Nadira was at the wedding, as Peaches said "Nadira would have been shocked if she was here".

Yeah and when they were at the mosque with the students who were memorising the Quran, the students got pervy when they were taking a pic with the football team and Peaches said "obviously the Quran hasn't taught them something".

In the article it says "The burqua-style gowns come with trousers, two styles of head-dress and elasticated cuffs". I think one style is the niqabi and the other is the hijabi.

I watched the programme too and I too thought it was rubbish and that it portrayed Islam in a negative way. That programme was more about culture than religion. Unfortunately people will believe it to be Islam.

When Peaches asked the girl who Fatima was, she replied the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)......and when at the mosque, Peaches referred to Fatima as the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and she wasnt corrected by the brother or sister with her.

I thought it was my imagination.

So Nadira did say wife instead of daughter.

Yeah i thought that aswell, at first i thought it was me mis hearing things.

The program had both good and bad points to it.

i thought it was funni, peachez embarassed herslf so much in it tho! and y the hell did she try n sing surah Al-fatiha??? i was jus crakin up lolz x

'A book holds a house of gold'

salaam

this program gt me so angry.

i hate it when theses kind of programs come on tv they dont ever shw teh real beauty of islam. instead they shw teh culture of teh land which tehy believe is part of teh religion of islam. know where has a bride gt so dolled up and dressed up and then sits next to her groom posing has ever been part of the islamic history .

 theses programs makes me pull out my hair even more.

A rose protects its beauty with thorns..a woman protects hers with a veil

Don't you wanna share Sad

I got something called Easy Audio Editor. It does the job.

There was a bit from a Hamza Yusuf lecture that I wanted to save on its own. Shaykh explains how western music has had Andalusian influences. He gives rock and roll as an example. Rock and roll is based on a 4-4 beat. The Kalimah is also based on a 4-4 beat.

The shaykh sings la ilaha illallah as it is sung in Morocco. Three second clip but very beautiful.

Naaaah!

I want the freebies to myself!

Ed - you are one sad case. I dont know what your problem is but ALLAH will question you for your slander of me and of the Ulama of Islaam.

LilSis - ALLAH put hidaayah in your heart and EDIT.

Noor - aint really got a problem with u but ALLAH save u from the clutches of him.

Angel - ALLAH save u from his clutches - ameen

Sirus - a bit emotional for my liking, a bit abusive but what can I expect. You've all been eating from one rotten tree.

Beast - objective - ALLAH grant you barakah.

Dust - a bit too quiet in opposing innovation and shirk . ALLAH make u da'ee ilALLAH.

Khan/ Yashmaki - ALLAH put barakah in yr imaan, islaam and ihsaan and make you ones who not only promote virtue - but PREVENT VICE.

Remember - Imam Ibn Taymiyyah along with da'wah would warn the people of the shirk of the pseudo-sufis.

Imam Ibn AbdulWahhab rahimahullah had to forcefully demolish the shrines built over the graves of the pious and suffered much.

Shah Waliyullah Muhaddith a Dehlawi/ Mujaddid Alfe Thani/ Hadrat Madani/ hadrat Thanwi rahimahullah ALL had to suffer a lot for preventing the vice.

Hadrat Shaykh ul Hind and Hadrat Madani - teacher and student - were shipped to Malta and tortured there for the battle against baatil, Hadrat Shaykh ul Hinds beard was shaved before him and Hadrat Madani would hear the dhikr of Hadrat - ALLAH ALLAH ALLAH - while being "interrogated" by the oppressors.

In ALL times our virtue lies in the Tawheed of ALLAH and the Sunnah of the Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam and just as the ahadeeth mention regarding the reward for one who revives the sunnah when the entire UMMAH will be corrupt is the reward of hundred martyrs. Why?

It is because the entire ummah will have left the sunnah and will have accepted bid'aat. Remember brothers and ladies that when Al Mahdee comes the first to send an army against him will be a ruler of Shaam, and his army will have the names of muslims. Remember that the ahadeeth mention that IMAAN will return to Madinah ALONE just as a snake returns to its hole. Remember that the truth is not dependent upon mere numbers - the majority of this Ummah neglect the five salaah - is this a basis for ijmaa?

Follow the Tawheed fo ALLAH and the Sunnah of the Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam regardless of the numbers who accept or decline it. And save yourselves from shirk for that is a great calamity and know that bid'aat is not adopted except with the lifting of a sunnah and this is a trade of loss for light is exchanged for a mere toy of darkness.

ALL praise is due to ALLAH and Prayers and Salutations be upon Nabi Muhammad and upon His Family and His Companions. salallahu alayhi wa sallam.

Assalaamu alaykum.

omg you have some cheek, you sit there abusing ppl and callin them all sorts yet when someone says something back to you then you blame it on their Shaykh. I pray to my Lord that he keeps me beside Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, I pray that I die as a loyal servant to my Lord and that I stay with Minhaj-ul-Quran forever. The same I pray for all the members of MQI. Ameen.

Lastly I hope you get saved from whatever you are being told coz it's nothing but that which is causing fitnah amongst the Ummah of the Holy Prophet (saw). May Allah (swt) save us from the people who are trying to cause this division and may they see the true light of Islam.

I should have done what I did right from the start - ignore you. (as from now on I will do that exactly)

I don't know if there is any hope for you but in the Court of Allah (swt) nothing is impossible, so may He (swt) help you.

Now Med, just the same question? Is allah (swt) all powerful? Can he grant knowledge to his creation?

Simple really.
