Caliph Al Baghdadi and the Islamic Caliphate

A topic to keep up to date with going ons...

First step is Tikrit.

Before ISIS Rebranded as IS, they captured large parts of Iraq including the city of Tikrit on June 11.

Currently the Iraqi government is in the process of trying to recapture the city.

Initial reports from Baghdad were that the city had been retaken, but they seem to have been premature.

The biggest victims will be the residents of TIkrit - ISIS has shown no qualms carrying out massacres, and since Tikrit has a large sunni majority. the forces of Al Maliki will not show much compassion to the residents - their aim is to show control on the ground, not to minimise civillian casualties so worse comes to worse they wont be against levelling the city.

When to call it quits?

1. There is no magazine.

2. The site is more or less abandoned

3. The price for hosting this site has increased marginally.

So the question is when to call it quits.

There is a big part of me that says keep the site running, making small changes/improvements and the hosting costs are negligible.

The smaller aprt says that every soul must taste death and if this site continues it will only waste people's efforts - people who could spend that time doing something more productive as for people wanting to use therevival for da'wah, it takes ten times more effort than it should.

Thoughts?

Fasting triggers stem cell regeneration of damaged, old immune system

In the first evidence of a natural intervention triggering stem cell-based regeneration of an organ or system, a study in the June 5 issue of the Cell Stem Cell shows that cycles of prolonged fasting not only protect against immune system damage — a major side effect of chemotherapy — but also induce immune system regeneration, shifting stem cells from a dormant state to a state of self-renewal.

British Muslim TV - Launching June 2014

What do you think?

Who is funding it? How many Muslim/Islamic channels are there out there?

and I notice that in the trailer, they do *slightly* better than other Muslim places at kids shows - they have a kid reading out of a book, with a torch in his hand!

(Why is the standard format for most Muslim activities meant to appeal to everyone one where everyone should sit on the floor, respectfully and quietly and simply listen?)
