Girl Talk!

This is a girly thread for girly talk...if ur a girly boy then u may post here.

Someone mentioned to me that jeans are "haraam" cos it is copying Kufaar and also cos boys wear jeans and girls are not supposed to dress like boys

But jeans are unisex-arent they?

Like socks, girls AND boys wear them

Another Q how much would u pay for the shoes below? Would u pay more then £30?

I'm not a "girly boy" but i just thought i'd let you know that my dad is a part owner of a shoe shop called Shalimar Shoes-He is an significant shareholder and thus my mum and sisiter get those kinds of shoes for literally about a fiver. We own a branch is Sprawbook so if any of you sisters live near there, come visit the shop and i'll get my sisters to give you a discount.

By the way we sell those sandals for about £40-i think its a rip off because they're imported from P-land and the diamonds rust in the rain-but its amazing how many customers buy them regardless of their price and quality.

yeah them shoes are approx £40 I'd be willing to pay that much for them-but no more

I have a wedding coming up and I want to get them shoes

my sis has an identical pair which she got from Pakiland for approx £15

where is Sprawbrook?

our local Shalimar is in Greens street-East London

is Sprawbrook in B'ham?

In pak everythin is cheaper, its so annoyin cuz i dont go there often!

those sandals are nice, your right wouldnt/shouldnt pay more than £40

This thread is for girls but i bet ya the boys will have a look, sum1 already did!

No. You're thinking of Sparkbrook.

I'm doing my dad's head in to introduce those discount cards that can be used in any branch regardless of the area. Like the ones you get in all the high street retail shops, ie, Next and Top Man etc. That way students can get at least a 15% discount.

I think Shalimar Shoes is established enough. But he don't listen, he want to hold onto the 'pakistani' way of selling and trading. I've got a lot of knowledge about businesses as i've done a-levels in it but he's adamant and will only stick to the basics.

He'll only follow what the other branches are doing and is reluctant to come out with any new techniques which IMO is quite typical.

Does anyone know where you can get those Hookah/sheesha pipe thingy's.

And how much do they cost?

There's a kebab shop in Alum Rock that I was in the other day that charges £5 for shisha. Don't know how long you're supposed to use it for though.

jeans are not unisex because men and women do not "share" them - women's and men's jeans are tailored very differently, to the effect that a man cant wear women's jeans without looking gay. therefore i dont see how it is haraam... jeans and trousers are all i ever wear nowadays, theyr jus really convenient and comfy!

u hav got to b kidding me... £30 - £40??!! i wud never pay that much for a pair of sandals. but especially not for those ones - no offence but theyr not very much my style, too shimmery and girly for me. i dont like heels much either....

most arab supermarket type places sell small ones. the smaller it is, the cheaper. i guess irfans given u an estimate but i'm not so sure about the cost in sterling as i bought mine in Egypt and obviously its much cheaper there. its important to get a good quality one tho, and the internet can b a useful place to find such things - a cousin bought his sheesha off the internet and he's pretty happy with it...

£5 for the pipe thing? Is it pretty? Do you know the name of the Kabab shop?

Aasiyah where are all the Arab supermarkets? Do you know of the proper name for the pipe?

Lol-I'm crazy about heels. I'd wear them 24/7 if it was considered decent to do so....

Weddings are the only chance I get to wear them...

lolz...heels are kool and look good but not very comfy...so mainly a prefer flats or shoes with a little heel.....but yeh on weddings the massive heels come out again lol

if i had my own way I'd wear jeans at home 24/7 too

but dad has an issue with them

i only wear them when he's at work/out the country

i dont think theres anything wrong with wearing jeans...as long as they aint tight and revealing....i mostly wear mine with a kurta or a long top anyway

Can't remember the name of the kebab shop, but I do remember that it was on a corner. Don't go to Alum Rock much. Don't know how we ended up there the other day.

As for the sheesha being pretty, it was shiny and colourful and stuff...

I'll be in B'ham in a few weeks time-I booked my driving test there

looks like I'll be visting every Kakab shop on the long Alum Rock road looking for the pipe thingy

Should be able to pick up a pair like that in my local indian store. But if you're stupid enough to get immitations from faith shoes for 40 quid plus then you need your head checked.

.

If I had £40 to spare and I fell in love with a pair of silver sandals…either in an Asian shop or in Faith….I’d buy them. I don’t think I need to get my head checked.

If I like something and can afford it-I always buy it. It don’t bother me how much something costs….as long as I can afford it.

chm1,

I have edited this comment and removed the substance as it was viscious, which I'm afraid is my tendency towards rhetoric and dramatic arguing. So I've deleted it and in future I won't take ramblers prisoner. Sorry chm1.

MuslimSisLilSis,

£40 is enough to go to a nice store and peruse the sale items for something really lovely, surely not to be wasted on a rough approximation of something you've seen. On your other point I daresay that having invited 'girly boys' into the thread you can't really take issue with girls wearing jeans.

erm muslim sis ur making it sound like im either a miser or skint. i simply said i wouldnt pay much for those sandals or any sandals. as for other footwear yeah i wud, but even then i don't think id pay an extortionate amount even if i had the cash, coz its being extravagant isn't it.

Anyways sorry if i offended you.

I'm not making you seem like a miser, even I think £40 for some sandels is a LOT of money...

But I just don't think that the people who would fork out the money should be described as being "stupid".

"MuslimSister" wrote:

Why waste money on over-expensive sandals rather people should worry about how much they spend so they can save money for the future and definently to give to the poor.

Its not about if you can afford it. If you save money for the poor, the after life will be much better, whats the pount of making this life better with spending so much on yourself, this life is short and can't match the virtues of heaven.

My family always worry about money and how much to spend on things, we buy the cheapest thing that can fit our needs, and give money to the poor, for islamic education like the coming Youth camp and to spiritually uplift ourselves by going to Syria.

Islamic Brother,

You're saying you prefer to save for holidays but you've decided for some reason to trip Muslim Sister out over a pair of shoes. No connection between the shoes and your enormous piety.

What I am saying is people should save money for better things in the future like the after-life or even a holiday.

I don't mind if someone buys a nice pair of sandals but its best to worry a bit about money.

Lol-relax brother. I always give money to the poor, and if AFTER I have given money to the poor I have enough money left over...I buy myself some nice silver sandels.

God does not forbid us from wearing nice sandels.

I don't save my money...I'm more of a pay as you go girl.

Why save for the future if you don't even know if you'll be around then....

I think there is a lot to say bout the trust of people in Allah (swt) when they save up and be so stingy, like muslimsis said you dont know if you gona live till 2moro so its good to take it as one day at a time, i am not sayin people should spend money on useless things but treatin yourself when you have the money is not wrong..

yeh our family dont save either

daddy gets his wages monthly

we all get our pocket money monthly-first we take out a part for charity-cos if we dnt mum makes us feel guilty

then we spend the rest on what we want

if I want something like-some pricy shoes THEN I start saving

if family wants to take us on holiday they start saving

but we dont believe in saving for a rainy day-whats the point?
