i love saris and do wear them at weddings etc making the pal extra long to cover the head is a very good idea and having long sleeves instead of short on the blouse which covers the belly is the thing to do

reams and reams of cloth hides the body and everything including the feet is covered

surely you can find it in london, your right black does look classic. sari's are really in, imagine those who wear them all the time but i dont think scot is the weather in which you would wear a sari a lot but then again anywher in UK aint the sari dress.

Yeah we have many many Asian clothes shops here.....Ilford Lane/Green street.

The shops that are mentioned in Asian Woman are all here. But they're all ridiculously overpriced…

If I can't get one I can afford maybe I’ll get one from Pakistan….

we do have asian shops here i bought my fish tail frm "anchal" but it cost too much which was real stupid when i could have come down your end and got it much cheaper, however my sari was cheap cuz we got it frm india, we have family frends there..we do have shops here but when it comes to designer cant really say there is much variety!

but I've decided not to wear one cos my sister is wearing one

I dont want to look like twins-that be too sad

There's a kebab shop in Alum Rock that I was in the other day that charges £5 for shisha. Don't know how long you're supposed to use it for though.

£5 for the pipe thing? Is it pretty? Do you know the name of the Kabab shop?

Went to Alum Rock yesterday, made a point of remembering the name of the kebab shop with the sheesha. But I don't know whether I should tell you. :?

You'll only go there and smoke it. But then your old enough to make your own mistakes. It's called Ramzans. Smile

i dont want to smoke it silly-I want to buy an EMPTY pipe to put in my room

OK. But in that kebab shop you can only smoke it, not buy it.

LOL u joker

I pointed out in the first page that I wanted a "pretty pipe for my room"

never said I wanted to smoke it

there's plenty of dodgy places here aswell if I wanted to do that

I said on the first page that the kebab shop charges £5 for sheesha and that I don't know how long ur allowed to use it for.

I assumed from the start u wanted to smoke it. :?

Never mind. Our wires get crossed.

lol, i also thought u were referring to one for sale!! i remember thinking "£5 is a bit cheap" and thought therefore that u 'didnt know how long it'd last for'... before it broke down coz it isnt good quality. Biggrin

Girls whats ur opinion on nose and belly piercing?

its all cool in my opinion. nose piercing doesnt suit everyone tho - i didnt get it done coz i didnt think it'd suit me, it looks pretty on a lot of gals tho.

i've been thinking of getting my belly button pierced for quite a while now (just for the heck of it ). however, the more i look into it, the more i'm getting put off: my friend who had it done said they use a needle, and altho it doesnt hurt too bad at the time, ur belly can b sore for a coupla weeks after. also in these first coupla weeks u have to clean it 2-3 times a day or it can get infected (dunno if i have the patience for that!)... y lilsis u considering either? Smile

Got my nose pierced years ago...its a diny diamonte thing that u can hardly see-u can only notice it if it catches the light

been thinking about having belly button piercing for years now-I think them tiny diamonte things in the belly look so cute...I'm two minds about it

mum says its "haram" and its pointless cos "no one will see it"

just wanted to know what u girls thought about it

I also think its looks very pretty...a friend of mine recently got her's done.

I've heard its forbidden though? :?

u can find saris that over the back and ur stomach and be loose and look "islamic"

u can also find shalwar kameez's that are EXTREMLY loose like a tent Biggrin

its true that the sari and the Shalwar kameez is a cultural dress-but if it covers it can be seen as an Islamic dress too

i got my nose pierced agesssss ago+i think sisters look nice with a pierced nose.

not to sure about belly piercing though :? iv never actually thought of it...not a part of my body that i would think of sticking a needle through lol

IMO as long as the dress you have on (whatever it may be) is loose, not see through and covers all your body then it is Islamic...but jilbabs always look better Biggrin Blum 3

Tiny nose studs suit all girls.....I don't like the big ones though.

And its true that any type of dress can look "Islamic" if it covers completely.

"MuslimSister" wrote:

yeh the small ones are always the best..i never wear big studs. either small or i dont at all lol

u can get a really pretty suit from one of the designer shops in Green Street for about £25 if u realy look around

but most suits are expensive

yash-dont u even like earings?
