Thats a good point about them being united against us...

But ultimately it's an unhealthy alliance either way you look at it so we might as well bite the bullet and clean house.

But would you agree that a more prominent UN role could make a major difference there?

More police forces, smarter policy, more legitimacy... it's not a cure but it's definitely a good shot of tylenol

Perhaps you are being more realistic though - I am comming at this from the angle of "how can we win" not "is it still possible to win" which is a decided optimistic bias

Think bosnia. the UN troops were there.

They were in places where massacres occurred. the red tape just meant that they watched the people being massacred instead of stopping them.
