Its intresting to note that this year..snow started more to the South East and now is slowly moving up North.

Yesterday London was covered with thick snow...today it was clear and B'ham was affected really badly...and according to my cousins in Manchester, it hasnt snowed there at all....but apparently, it should do this weekend.

We got probably a half centimeter of snow followed by some rain here today.

Mean while on the other side of the pond, they always have to do things bigger:

esidents in northern New York state are bracing themselves for more heavy snowfalls as they struggle to clear up to six feet (1.80m) of snow.

Highways, schools and offices remain closed in Oswego County. Forecasters say an additional two feet of snow could fall by tomorrow.

A state of emergency has been declared in and around the county, which has seen six days of squalls of snow.

Freezing conditions elsewhere in the US were blamed for at least 20 deaths.

Emergency crews were struggling to clear roads in Oswego, where at times snow was falling at rates of 5in (12cm) an hour.

"We're just trying to keep up. It's an almost unreal amount," Mayor Randy Bateman.

"We catch up when it stops, but then it just comes again, even heavier."

The so-called lake-effect snow is caused by the cold air picking up moisture as it moves over nearby Lake Ontario, depositing it as snow inland.

Meteorologists say the storms in the Lake Ontario area normally last a couple of days, and it is unusual for them to last so long.

Extreme cold weather has also been affecting other north-eastern and central areas of the country.

Deaths linked to the cold have been reported in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York and Maryland.

6 ft of snow with more to come. How cool is that!

Last year my car skidded and I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to drive in the snow again. I was really careful, going really slow and stuff, but it happened at a junction on a raised bit.

Come on be honest, were you going too fast when approaching the turn?

If you were going slow then check your tyre treads as they might be worn out. I fitted new tyres on my car a few months back.

I actually drove fast on purpose and it didn't skid even a bit.

My bro nearly went flying today. The roads are propa icy. It's best not to drive in these conditions.
