Same here.

I'm a classic under-achiever.

First person in my family to graduate so it was a pretty big deal.
But then again so was when i first finished the Quran (was a lil kid...8/9)
Passing my drivers test.
Achieving the different belts in JuJitsu.
Meeting Will Smith.
Winning the under 18 fiction righting competition.
When my mom said i had more sense than my elder brother.

Theres probably more but those stand out the most in my mind.

I don't believe in achievements.

If you did something big, then good. If not, then good too. Afterall you can only achieve what you are capable of.

Besides there is pride before the fall.

(yes that is a long winded way to say 'no real achievements'...)

at least it's an achievment!!! or 'no real achievement'!!!! potatoe pAtAto!!!

live and let live!!!!!!!

By 'no real achievement', I mean I do not consider getting out of bed an achievement. Blum 3

Doing anything that you can call an achievement (in the positive sense anyway) requires effort. I understand that, so totally avoid anything of the sort.

Just looking for easy.

you are ADMIN!!!! an achievment!!! next........ED!!!! Smile

live and let live!!!!!!!

I have just remembered I knew this guy who DID feel it was an achievement for getting out of bed. He would celebrate it with a smoke. Then he would celebrate his achievement of eating breakfast with another smoke...

He saw everything as an achievement and smoking as a reward.

Being admin is more of a title. I have very little real input with 'The Revival'. Most of the team have not met me, spoken to me, or know my views on anything unless they have read my posts on the forums.

I do what I do because it allows me to conveniently forget about real 'work'.

EDIT

I would love to have the 'Ed's input. What he thinks is his biggest achievement...

POST EDITED BY ADMIN Smile

my achievements:

errmmm...

dunno really...

ok here goes...

1. I suppose biggest must be being the editor of the revival for the last 10 years... taking a 1 page leaflet to a full colour magazine with a circulation of 15,000 making it the biggest Muslim mag in UK. its given me alot of satisfaction...and stress:-0 but its what my life has been about...
but it was always a team effort...

2. Being Producer and Co-Presenter of The Lets Talk Show in month of Ramadan in Oldham, Rochdale and Manchester for the last 8 years. I've put in alot of effort in each show to discuss the issues of today...

3. giving up smoking!!!! from 10 to 15 fags a day to none!!!! thought i'll never do it...but hamdulillah i have!

4. graduating from Uni with degree in Politics....
its not the degree that i see as an achievement but the experience of uni life, well again its not an achievement but definitely changed me as a person and its when i started doing dawah work...

5. getting married, buying a house and now being a father.... dunno if they come down as achievements but again are moments which change your life and make you grow quickly as a person...

nothing is an achievement with out the help and mercy of Allah(swt)...and you cant achieve anything without the duaas of your parents.... so if i have achieved anything its because of them.

good post.

(I also edited your earlier post :P)

My biggest achievement EVER is most definitely my 2004 Hajj. Nothing can top that experience.

As well as that…

-Being part of the best magazine in the whole wide world.

-Graduating from Uni.

-My articles/reports published all over the net.

-Passing my driving test (it took me three years to get through that stupid test)

-My regular public speaking/radio work….that was a massive personal achievement for me, as even the thought of public speaking used to terrify me and give me sleepless nights.

-My study circles, which have alhumdullilah been a regular and successful thing for the past four years....as well, as my Islamic Summer School work.

-The fact that I’ve never given my parents a reason to be disappointed in me…

And for the future….I don’t know where to begin. The sky’s the limit.

more achievements of mine ...

downloading 212 songs on my Nano.

being able to fit into clothes i brought 5 years ago Dirol

not giving into family pressure

not achieved anything by myself.....done a fair few things, but all is from Allah (Swt) and Hazoor Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) ka karam

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.
