The UK's first Muslim drag queen - What do you think?

Weird family, "attending" a "wedding".

You can't change the rules of Islam just because you want something else.

It ends with him asking "when will it be right to be Muslim and gay?" and the answer is never because we do not set the rules.

Islam was a divinely revealed religion and its rules are from the qur'an and sunnah. We can't make them up as and when we please.

I agree. Answer: Never. The two simply do not coexist.

Does anyone else have an issue with accepting such things? I can't seem to understand how people would want to go against nature. Maybe it's their logic that I can't grasp.

You know how they always say "well we were born this way just as you were born straight" that's not true, even the Royal College of Psychiatrists say so.

I read about it briefly. their official statement but more to do with "conversion" therapies. The conclusion was mentioned on a couple of other too.

How would you explain what gay means? He should've said "mein larkeh ko bohat muhabbat karta huw" (Is that correct? My Urdu has gone a bit kach-cha).

Yeh something along those lines. :/ pretty sure there's a word for it but I can't remember it atm. Or maybe I've never heard of it and I'm just confusing all the other LGBT terms. But there's gotta be a word to explain Prophet Lut (as) story...

If you find out what it is, then do share it lol.

Might come in use one day.

I KID.

Not all drags are gay right?

men dressed as women and vice versa are not allowed in Islam... clear boundaries and stuff.

They look atrocious. No offense. Just my individual opinion. I don't understand how people like that sort of look. It's so exaggerated and fake. Like what they trying at?! I'd actually really like to know what they get out of it besides being a laughing stock.

I feel like I'm being really mean now.

Well.. That was disturbing. :/

In agreement with all. Man cant change a law thats been ascribed by the Almighty

This guy is way braver than most straight guys. He has sex with men! And then he tells other muslims!!

There are loads of gay muslims, of course there are. I know loads of gay jews and have probably met a few gay muslims although I wouldn't know if they tried to reconcile with their families and communities. Being gay is fancying the same sex whether you were born that way or it's a result of choices or whatever, so whatever choices a person makes that are not malicious, best to be nice and let them live free of fear and constant persecution. On the whole the gays I know can be catty for fun and highly strung but more sensitive, understanding folk overall. Kind of more religious.

A gay muslim's consolation if their attempt at a religious life isn't sanctioned by the community is, it doesn't have to be. One of my brothers is gay and he's very loveable and wants to be traditional in many other ways (more than I do), or at least easy on the parents, doesn't really go in for Pride, and I don't think anyone has much to say about it. But that's his style. Personally I love people with a different and challenging outlook. For me that's a profoundly religious attitude.

Then again I know someone who wouldn't think twice about dressing 'highly inappropriately' for a religious event. I don't know if that's wise but what do I know?
