Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet and Allen Ahlberg

In this book
With your little eye
Take a look
And play “I spy”

Each Peach Pear Plum
I spy Tom Thumb

Tom Thumb in the cupboard
I spy Mother Hubbard

Mother Hubbard in the cellar
I spy Cinderella

Cinderella on the stairs
I spy the Three Bears

Three Bears out hunting
I spy Baby Bunting

Baby Bunting fast asleep
I spy Bo-peep

Bo-peep on the hill
I spy Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill in the ditch
I spy the Wicked Witch

Wicked Witch over the wood
I spy Robin Hood

Robin Hood in the den
I spy three bears again

Three bears still hunting
They spy Baby Bunting

Baby Bunting safe and dry
I spy Plum Pie

Plum pie in the sun,
I spy everyone!

I used to love this book in reception! I used to read it every day... it had a massive picture one side and the two lines on the other side.
I even remember the tension I felt when the three bears were out hunting and THEY spied Baby Bunting....but then I turned the page .... and phew! Baby bunting was safe and dry, they really saved the baby cos it was drifting in a river.
And what was Cinderella doing in the cellar which belonged to Mother Hubbard? hmmm....

Please tell me, you lot remember this too?

Yay!

Thanks for posting the text for this poem. I used to have it memorized as a child and was trying to recall it with my dad today. It brings back great memories... Smile

One reason for that is that google gets the most recent updated links. I think.

Baby Bunting grew up to become a guy called Bunty who was friends with Babli and they had adventures together... Also Jack and Jill they died... it was horrible. There was soooooooo much blood everywhere.
