Shocking massacre in Syria

I dont think there is much that shocks people these days, especially following the deliberate mass murder and massacre of protestors in Egypt last week.

But the callous taking of lives in todays massacre on the outskirts of Damascus is something else.

Swedish women don headscarves after assault on Muslim

Swedish women have been posting photos of themselves in traditional Muslim headscarves in solidarity with a woman attacked apparently for wearing a veil.

Among the protesters from various faiths were politicians and TV hosts.

The "hijab outcry" campaigners urged the government to "ensure that Swedish Muslim women are guaranteed the right to... religious freedom".

Mosque blast terror suspect held over Mohammed Saleem murder - BBC News

One of two Ukrainian men being held over bomb attacks near three mosques has been further arrested on suspicion of murdering a 75-year-old man.

West Midlands Police said the arrest was in connection with the killing of Mohammed Saleem on 29 April.

They said the man, 25, was being held over "a further act of terrorism".

Mr Saleem died after being stabbed in the back in Green Lane, Small Heath, in Birmingham, on his way home after attending prayers at his local mosque.

It isn't a centre for Muslim activism as its generally pretty laid back and quiet.

Probably too small to be called a community.

Muslim religious leaders to condemn child sex grooming

The sexual grooming of children is expected to be condemned by Muslim leaders across the UK later in a sermon to be read to thousands of worshippers.

Imams at about 500 mosques are expected to read the sermon to congregations during Friday prayers, said organisers Together Against Grooming (TAG).

The sermon will highlight how the Koran emphasises that Muslims must protect children and the vulnerable, said TAG.

The sermon was supported by leading Muslim organisations, a spokesman said.

McDonalds Israel's boycott of Israeli Settlements.

I did not know that McDonalds had a policy to not open stores on lands taken by settlements outside Israel's 1967 borders. Apparently it does.

Not only that "Padan, chief executive of McDonald's Israel, was a founding member of Peace Now, the anti-settlement organisation".
