Prams are acceptable as a product.

They were orginally designed for women to push their babies in.

Why on earth do men use them!!

It reflects badly on a man to be seen pushing a pram.

It makes him look weak - not able to carry his child.

Omrow

Not necessarily - thats stereotypical
i dont think theres nothing wrong with a man pushing a pram - what if he has a fat fat baby and he has to climb up 4 hills to get to his house lol?

4 hills!! Where does he live Everest?

everest is a mountain it has no hills.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

More importantly, have you seen any pram pushers there?

Forget the men having to push prams, the ladies there have the men whipped enough that they drive them (and their babies) around everywhere.

Prams, believe it or not, can be rather cumbersome and heavy to manuvere. It would be a great relief to women if their other halves kindly came to their aid, and pushed the pram for a while. Im sure you'll be only too pleased to help your wife when she needs it, right?

I see it as a matter of practicality, rather than "what will other people think", or how badly it would reflect on you as a man.

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.

its not such a big deal, men pushing prams. Maybe you should try it out, u never know, you may end up loving it! Blum 3

I still dont see wats wrong with guys pushing prams??

If we women can carry a child for 9 months than why cant a guy push a pram? After all he was partially responsible for the baby in the first place.

When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it is not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.

Why doesn't he just walk around the first three hills and climb the fourth one?

@Seraph and Funzo: Get a room, guys.

re: whoever asked if I've seen any prams/pushchairs in Damascus. The answer is only one, and it belongs to my (future) brother and sister-in-law.

Crossing the road is hard enough as it is. There are no traffic lights so you have to run across, weaving in and out of cars as you go, making du'aa. A pushchair would just make it impossible.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

listen sweeties... guys don't have a prob with prams... just a minority such as Umrao who think it's making life too easy for him!

(i'm actually getting sick of this pram pushing thing!)

lol @ 'Umrao'... whats his last name 'Jaan'?

If you read carefully, you will find that the answer is in your own sentence.

Women "carry" their child for 9 months. in there is a clue for sissy men.

Women dont push the baby in a pram for 9 months.

That is why a man should CARRY his kid.

Women carry the heavy burden of the baby for 9 months.

Real men ought to carry their sons and daughters on their arms for 9 years.

God has given men more strength than women. Its a fact.

Pram pushers are, in reality, weaker than women.

But under your "law" she would be pushing the pram for over 9 months.

Courage. You have not understood what I wrote.

Perhaps you did not get the context.

I meant that while pregnant women do not push prams for the baby their carry inside them.

Men should not look for the easy way out and purchase a pram.

Wimps.

Omrow

SO should women push prams? Or not? If you can be more efficient and push a pram and carry the baby why not do tha?

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

I have already said pram were desgined for women and not for wimps. Go up and read it again.

But what's so wimpy about pushing prams and carrying? Wink Blum 3

Except for emergencies, real men simply dont push prams.

There is no third position between a wimp and a real man.

Omrow

Id like to see you carry the baby along with the spare nappies, baby formula, toys and your weekly shop. All without a pram.

Then tell me they're not necessary.

I believe that real men are those who have the stength, responsibility and cabability to lead their family. Maintain their self-respect in front of their women, are not circus trained sissy animals who watch sex and the city (or as I put it, Andy Pandy men), but who are also not afraid to push a pram once in a while. Is a dangerous and inconceivable notion to me that ignoring your child (i.e. by not taking part in their upbringing) is acceptable. Umar ibn al-Khattab (radiAllahu anhu) (whose masculinity no-one can doubt!) whilst being the amir ul-Muslimeen, would go to work late every single day because he would be helping his wife with the cooking.

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.
