While I totally agree with you some might not be so eager to agree. See it all depends, if you think the shia are your muslim brothers.

If they are then yes muslims DO do this. Infact najaf, karbala, qom and the other shia ''holy'' cities are famous for their thriving prostitute trades. The whole backbone of prostitution in these cities relies on the shia religious students who study and enjoy their temporary marriages.

Lahore's prostitute racket is also run by shias as is much of lollywood.

This is a temporary marriage. Basically before having relations the man whispers a special forumala, dunno what it is (if any1 really wants to knw then ask a shi'te). The whispering of the forumal makes her halal for him. As far as I know they can agree to have a marriage for a certain time. So he can agree to marry her for a few hours, for a week, for two months, for 7 years and then they ''divorce''.

This prostitution does not require any witnesses, I am not aware of it involving a dowry.

I think in the early period of islam it may have been permitted when Sahabah Karaam were on trekking missions. But by the end this was totally and for ever abrogated. The ruling was definitely that this type of agreement is not permitted and is not a marriage but it became more advertised during the khilafah of Sayyidina Umar radhiyallahu anhu.

From this the shia say it was a made forbidden by Sayyidina Umar radhiyallahu anhu and continue with it.

Anyone with the right mind can see that temporary marriage is clearly forbidden, but again the Shia have rejected all Hadiths in this matter and still continue to follow their desires, even if it is Zina (fornication, adultery etc.). Muslims can not compare the above Hadiths with some fabricated lies from the Shia's Hadith:

However for the Shia this can never be enough... . They have still worse to come. Infact the amount of Shia references would be enough to fill a book on this subject.. as the Shia indeed try at every step to justify this forbidden act. In the same Shia book mentioned above, it is written in clear words that the number of women that a person can be engaged with in temporary marriage at the same time is unlimited. May ALLAH guide and protect us from this and all the other Shia filth that they try to enforce upon us. Any good out of this, is from ALLAH and any error in this is from ourselves and Shaitan.

The thing about Mu'ta is... The divorce period is still 3-9 months... during which time the woman cannot remarry. Not exactly useful for prostitution...

That is if you accept that Mu'ta is allowed.

Some shia probably do believe Mu'ta is allowed (as from Med's quotation [even though its not a shia site... so its accuracy cannot be accounted for]), but I doubt many subscribe to the position that has been putlined in red.

Some believe some things, others believe other things. And any explanation by a sunni will be of the dismissive type. We do not agree with them. We have a habit of maligning anothers beliefs.

However there is a hadith where the Prophet told a Sahabi that gold was haraam for him. He threw it away. People asked him why did he not give it to his wife, and his response was of the type 'if the prophet did not permit it for me, why should I give it to my sife'. I have no reference... But I assume that hadith was being used.

its important to remeber that anything which is haraam/forbidden totally is in the qura'an. The qura'an forbids men from gold n silk, but duznt say nuffin bot women, so its ok for women. Mayb the gold shaped ornaments where idol shaped or summin who knows but gold is defo NOT haraam for women
