Du'a - The weapon of the believer: PART 10

Bilan β€”

Salaam! πŸ˜ƒ

Good news! Eid has officially come early! πŸ˜ƒ Bad news...it aint no Xmas :p lol! Relax, I kid, I kid lol.
ok serious! *clears throat*

August 23rd - Chapter 7: The Recommended Times for Du'a

Of the great mercy of Allah is that He has favoured certain times over others and has distinguised them so that the worshipper can eagerly anticipate their arrival so he can pray earnestly and sincerely. Had all the times been the same, the worshipper would not have had the same enthusiasm that exists during the more blessed times.

1. Du'a in the Last Third of the Night

"Our Lord descends every night, during the last third of it, to the skies of this world, and asks: 'Who is making du'a to Me so that I can respond to him? Who is asking Me, so that I can give him? Who is asking for My forgiveness, so that I can forgive him?'"

How to work out the last third of the night

2. .An Hour of the Night

In additon to the hadith pertaining to du'a at the last third of the night, there are also ahadith informing us that there is a general time at night during which du'as are responded to. The prophet(saw) said: "There is at night an hour, no muslim happens to be asking Allah any matter of this world or the Hereafter, except that he will be given it, and this (occurs) every night. (As this hour isn't specified, I think it just implies that you should make frequent du'a at night so that it may fall within this hour?)

3. Du'a When the Adhan is Called

This is based on the hadith of the prophet(saw): "Two (du'as) are never rejected, or rarely rejected: the du'a during the call for prayer, and the du'a during the calamity when the two armies attack each other."

4. Du'a Between the Adhan and Iqamah

Five times every day, while a worshipper is waiting to offer his prayers to Allah, he is given the opportunity to ask from Him his needs. Anas ibn Malik narrates that the prophet(saw) said: "The du'a said between the adhan and the iqamah is not refused, therefore offer your du'as (at this time)

(iqamah: another call to prayer that is said just before the actual salah.)

5. Du'a during the salat

Some of the postures of the salat during which the performance of du'a has been narrated are as follows:

1) After the initial takbir (Allahu Akbar), when one is starting the salat.

2) Before the ruku and after one has finished reciting the Quran - but this is only for witr/qunut prayers.

3) After one has stood up from ruku

4) During the ruku itself

5) During the sujud, and this was the posture during which the prophet(saw) made most of his du'a

6) While sitting between the 2 sajdahs.

7) After the final tashahud, and before the end of the prayer.

These postures are in addition to the du'as that he ο·Ί used to do while actually reciting the Quran. Hudhayfah narrated in this respect: "I prayed one night behind the prophet(saw),and he started reciting surah al-Baqarah. I thought to myself 'He will surely stop after a hundred verses.' However (after he reached a hundred verses), he went on, so I said to myself 'He will surely finish the surah in this rak'ah.' When he finished al-Baqarah, I thought, 'He will surely go into ruku now' but he started surah al-Nisa, and continued reciting it until he finished. Then he started reciting surah al-Imran and he completed its recitation!...whenever he read a verse in which Allah was glorified, he would glorify Allah,a dn whenever he read a verse which requested something (from Allah), he would request it, and whenever he read a verse that sought refuge in Allah, he would seek refuge in Allah.."

So when a person is reciting the Quran in a voluntary prayer, they are encouraged to make du'a whenever one occurs in the Quran. It is not encouraged for the obligatory prayers however.

6. Du'a whilst prostrating

7. While reciting al-Fatihah

There are many blessings contained within surah al-Fatihah, and of these is the fact that Allah accepts the du'a that is present in the surah

(See comments for the hadith relating to this)

8. After al-Fatihah

When the imam says 'Amin' then recite it behind him (as well) because whoever's 'Amin' coincides with the Amin of the angels will have all his sins forgiven.

Du'a - The weapon of the believer: PART 9

Bilan β€”

Salaam πŸ˜ƒ

August 23rd - Chapter 6: Discouraged Acts during Du'a final part

13. To Imply That One Will Not Ask Anything Else

It is all too common to hear a person say "Oh Allah! Please grant me such and such and I will not ask you anything else after this!" Such thinking has 2 major problems with it. Firstly, it implies that Allah is not Generous, as such a condition is usually put to someone who is miserly. Secondly it implies that a person is self-sufficient and not in need of Allah's response to his du'as. As if the person can live without Allah's blessings! Verily every breath that we take is because of Allah's blessings, and no-one can be free of Allah's help even for the twinkling of an eye. So make du'a and make plenty of du'a for Allah's Generosity is more than all that you can possibly ask for.

14. To Experiment in One's Du'a

This occurs when a person thinks to himself 'Let me make a du'a and see if Allah responds to me or not'. Such thinking conflicts with the sincerity and humility that is needed for a du'a to be answered.

15. To Have Evil Intentions

16. To Make Frequent Mistakes

It is all too common to hear people that do not speak Arabic properly making du'a with grammatical errors in them. Such a person might even change the whole meaning of the du'a without realising. (This is why it is preferrable for a person who speaks arabic to lead the congregation and give the khutbah.

17. To Rely on Others to Make Du'a

While it is permissible to ask another person to make du'a for one's self (will be discussed later), it is improper to rely on that person totally to the extent that one fails to perform du'a himself

18. To Cry Out Loud in Public

A person should try to control his crying in front of other people, for it is a private worship between him and his Creator. If however, a person is overcome with emotion and cannot control himself, then he is excused, but it is a mistake to make it a continual habit in public.

19. To Make Excessively Long Du'as in Congregation

The prophet(saw) prohibited Mu'adh from reciting a long surah while he was Imam, and he stated that this would cause hardship upon the muslims.

20. To Mention Himself Only if He is Imam

TThe Imam is responsible for the welfare of the entire congregation. Therefore, when he makes du'a in the witr of qunut prayer, he should say "Oh Allah! Forgive us" and not "forgive me". This only applies to the du'a that is done out loud. For the du'a that he does silently in sujud etc he is allowed to pray for himself.

and that concludes the end of this chapter! πŸ˜ƒ

Coming up next inshAllah: Chapter 7 - The Recommended Times for Du'a

Even shorter than yday, I know I knw! But I thought it better if the start the new chapter in a new thread. Your patience is MUCH appreciated! πŸ˜ƒ

the last ten days of Ramadan

The Last Ten Days of Ramadaan

Author: 'Abdullaah Ibn Saalih Al-Fawzaan

Source: Ahaadeeth As-Siyaam (pg. 133-135) (trans. Masjid Ahl ul-Quran was-Sunnah Association, NY, USA)

Article ID : IBD090010 [7397]

β€˜Aa'ishah radiyAllahu anha said:β€œWhen the last ten days (of Ramadaan) would come, the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would spend his night in worship, wake his family (at night), exert himself and tighten his Izaar (waistcloth).”

[1]

This hadeeth is proof that the last ten days of Ramadaan have a special virtue over any other (set of days), in which one should increase in obedience and acts of worship, such as prayer, making dhikr (remembrance) and reciting the Qur'aan.

β€˜Aa'ishah radiyAllahu anha has described our Prophet and role model, Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), with four attributes:

1. He (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would "spend his night in worship", meaning he would not sleep during it. Thus, he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would remain awake throughout it in worship and he would liven his soul by spending the night in sleeplessness. This is since sleep is the brother of death. The meaning of "spend his night" is that he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would spend all of it in the state of qiyaam (night prayer) and performing acts of worship that are done for the sake of Allaah, Lord of the worlds. We must remember that the last ten days of Ramadaan are fixed and numbered.
As for what has been reported concerning the forbiddance of spending the entire night in prayer, which has been mentioned in the hadeeth of 'Abdullaah Ibn 'Amr RAA, then it is in regards to someone who does that consistently throughout every night of the year.

2. He (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would "wake up his family" meaning his (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) pure wives, the Mothers of the Believers, so that they may take part in the profiting of good, the dhikr (remembrance) and the acts of worship during these blessed times.

3. He (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would "exert himself", meaning he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would persevere and struggle in worship, adding more to his deeds than what he had done in the first twenty days (of Ramadaan). He only did this because the night of Al-Qadr occurs during one of these (last ten) days.

4. He (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would "tighten his Izaar (waistcloth)" meaning he would exert himself and struggle intensely in worship. It is also said that it means he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would withdraw from women. This seems to be more correct since it inclines with what was mentioned previously and with the hadeeth of Anas RAA: "He (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would rollup his bed and withdraw from women (i.e. his wives)." [2]

Also, he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would observe 'Itikaaf in the last ten days of Ramadaan and the person who is in the state of 'Itikaaf is restricted from interacting (sexually) with women.

So, O Muslim brother, strive to characterize yourself with these attributes. And guard the prayer you make in the depths of the night (tahajjud) with the Imaam in addition to the Taraaweeh prayer (which is prayed in the early parts of the night), so that your exertion in these last ten days may go beyond that of the first twenty. And so that you may achieve the attribute of "spending the night in worship" by praying.
And you must be patient in your obedience to Allaah, for indeed, the tahajjud (night) prayer is difficult, but its reward is great. By Allaah, it is a great opportunity in ones life and a profitable thing to take advantage of, for the one whom Allaah grants it to. And a person does not know if perhaps he will encounter one of Allaah's many rewards during the night prayer, thus serving as assistance for him in this world and in the Hereafter.

The righteous predecessors of this ummah would lengthen the prayer at night, exerting themselves. As-Saa'ib Ibn Yazeed said: "'Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab ordered Ubay Bin Ka'ab and Tameem Ad-Daaree to lead the people in prayer with eleven raka'aat. The reciter would recite one hundred verses, to the point that we had to lean upon wooden staffs due to the long standing. And we would not stop until the early parts of Fajr." [3]
'Abdullaah Ibn Abee Bakr reported: "I heard my father (i.e. Abu Bakr) say: 'During Ramadaan, we would finish (the night prayer) late and we would hurry the servants to present the food (of suhoor) for fear that Fajr (morning) would come upon us." [4]
There are two struggles of the soul that the believer faces during Ramadaan: the struggle by day with fasting and the struggle by night with qiyaam (night prayer). So whosoever combines these two and fulfills their rights, then he is amongst the patient -- those who will "be given their reward in full without any reckoning." [5]
These ten days are the last part of the month and a person's actions are based on his last ones. So perhaps, he will encounter the night of Al-Qadr, while standing in prayer for Allaah and thus have all his past sins forgiven.

And one must incite, animate and persuade his family to perform acts of worship, especially in these great times in which no one neglects it except that he has been deprived. What is more incredible than this is that while the people are performing prayer and making tahajjud, some individuals spend their time in forbidden gatherings and sinful events. This is indeed the greatest loss. We ask Allaah for his protection.
Therefore, embarking on these last days means entering into the profiting from righteous deeds in what remains of the month. From the unfortunate matters is to see that some people excel in righteous actions, such as prayer and recitation of the Qur'aan, in the first part of the month, but then signs of fatigue and weariness begin to show on them afterwards, especially when the last ten days of Ramadaan come in. And this is in spite of these last ten days possessing a greater standing than the first ones. Thus, one must persevere in striving and struggling and increase his worship when the end of the month draws near. And we must keep in mind that a person's actions are based on his last ones.

Du'a - The weapon of the believer: PART 8

Bilan β€”

Salaam πŸ˜ƒ

August 22nd - Chapter 6: Discouraged Acts during Du'a continued

8. To Curse Someone

The prophet(saw) said: "The muslim is not (given to) harming others, or cursing them, or being vulgar, or obscene."

Once, the Companions were whipping an individual that had been caught drinking wine. Umar(ra) in his anger, cursed the man. Hearing this, the prophet(saw) said: "Don't say that! Don't help Shaytan against him!"

Even while inflicting this punishment, it is not allowed to curse or harm him in any other manner. If this is the case with a drunkard, then how much more so for a muslim that has committed a much smaller sin or no crime at all!

It is also prohibited to curse the dead, for the prophet(saw) said: "Do not curse the dead, for they have already gone forth to what they have sent." So there is nothing to be gained by cursing them. This applies to all dead people, except those whom Allah or the prophet(saw) cursed.

Cursing is even prohibited when it comes to inanimate objects, diseases or animals. The prophet(saw) said: "The wind is of the helpers of Allah. It brings His Mercy and His Punishment. So when you see it, do not curse it, and ask Allah its good, and seek refuge in him from its evil."

In another hadith, the prophet(saw)said: "Do not curse the rooster for it wakes up (people) for the prayer."

In another hadith, the prophet(saw) entered upon Umm al-Sa'ib. and found her shivering. He asked her what her problem was, so she replied " I have a fever, may Allah not bless it!" The prophet(saw) then said: "Do not curse the fever, for it rids the sins of the children of Adam like a furnace rids iron of its evil."

9. To Limit Mercy

Abu Hurayrah(ra) reported: "A Bedouin man who was praying with us said 'O Allah! Have Mercy on myself and Muhammad, and do not have mercy on any besides us two!' After the prophet(saw) had finished his prayer, he smiled and said: 'Indeed, you have confined something very vast (meaning the Mercy of Allah)!'"

It is not a part of faith to limit Allah's Mercy and neither is a person capable of doing so for Allah states: " And My Mercy prevails over all things!"

10. To Pray for Death

The prophet(saw) clearly stated that the life of a believer only brings more good, for Abu Hurayrah reported him(saw) as saying: "None of you should wish for death, nor should he make du'a for it before it comes to him. Verily, once one of you dies, his deeds are cut off, and the the extension of the life of the believer can only be for the better!"

11. Du'a for Evil and Hastiness in Du'a

12. To Look Upwards During the Prayer

The prophet ο·Ί prohibited this for he said: "Surely the people will stop raising their eyes towards the skies while they are making du'a in salat, or their sight will be snatched from them!"

The desired humility of du'a will not be achieved when one raises one's head arrogantly towards the skies, rather one should have a humble and lowly appearance.

Anti-extremism Projects Vs State Funded Muslim Schools

Iftikhar β€”

Anti-extremism Projects Vs State Funded Muslim Schools

Millions of pounds have been wasted on anti-extremism projects that did not produce any security benefits. But we can afford to throw money at bankers. I think we should axe funding to our variety of (sometimes illegal) wars in other countries. Fewer bombs and perhaps they'd been more money for the NHS and the likes. Why are these specific groups allowed to suckle at the public tit? And what's the message the government is sending? "If we give you money, will you promise not to blow us up?" This is not counter-terrorism work. This is appeasement. Let's call a spade a spade. I feel that this Tory government is edging closer and closer to a police state in it approach to dealing with terrorism - and especially Muslim terrorists. In Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia, people were encouraged to spy on each other: would this government have us act in the same way? Will we have show trials where one neighbour denounces another as being a member of a proscribed organisation? Probably too extreme, but who knows? The key challenge is to ensure that healthcare workers can identify the signs that someone is vulnerable to radicalisation, interpret those signs correctly and access the relevant support," the document is expected to say. And what are these signs supposed to be? "Well he's grown a beard which was the first red flag you see. Oh and I heard a ticking noise whilst he was in the room. Crafty little bugger tried to tell me it was my wall clock" Thersea May and Dame Pauline Neville-Jones are utterly insane. Yes beards are a sure sign of something untoward. What are they hiding?

Our politicians need to pay a visit to the doctor themselves, or maybe the psychiatrists would be more appropriate. And will they be able to provide some sort of medication to combat radicalisation? Will Aspirins and a lie down do the trick? Theresa may suggest that universities are breeding extremism. She herself is not helping the cause and in fact making it worse. When she got into her position, a small bigoted group influenced her to ban an Islamic speaker Dr. Zakir Naik who was branded as a terrorist when in fact he did an entire 2 hour presentation as to why Islam does to promote or advocate terrorism. He explicitly stated that it is un-Islamic and that what the do is wrong even stating that the Quran says' killing of one innocent person is as though the whole of humanity has been killed'. That does not sound like an extremist to me. Hypocritical and unjust, not even an appeal was allowed Britain and its ally has created the world we live in. We have nurtured those who do others harm when it has suited our purposes. We have bombed and killed them at will as we saw fit. We have allied ourselves with the Neo-Cons in the USA in Empire-building in the guise of a War on Terror. The world is as it is, because we have demonised those who don't hold our 'values'. If our Government has demonstrated our values over the past decades, I for one am glad there are people out there who don't share them..... Corruption, lying, deceit, war-mongering.....We should be seeking them out and giving them money in the bucketful. God Bless Us!! May said it was important to draw a distinction between speakers who expressed disagreeable views and speakers who were unlawful in terms of inciting violence or terrorism. According to the Guardian, people from minorities are up to 42 times more likely than native Brits to be the target of a counter-terrorism power which allows the stopping and searching of the innocent yet grants them less right than suspected criminals. Asif Ahmad alleges that he was questioned by M15 and asked to spy on others in his community and report to the agency.
So long as anti-Muslim, Jewish, EDL and BNP groups are allowed to address meetings on universities there can be no objection to the Muslims doing the same. All should be treated equally. The police should be invited to witness all these kinds of activities and close them down if they think a breach of the peace is threatened. Regardless of the subject, or any personal feelings we might have about it, we have to work on the principle that freedom of speech is total, or we simply do not possess it. I understand that Voltaire's position on this issue was described as being something along the lines of:"I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." I think in this he was completely correct.
British schooling has been producing young Muslims full of anger, frustration and extremism, thanks to state schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers. British schooling is the home of institutional racism and British teachers are chicken racist. They are not role models for bilingual Muslim children during their developmental periods.

British schooling and the British society is the home of institutional racism. BNP, EDL and all other main political parties are the true photo of the racist British society. Why not NATO and the other entire WATCH DOGS group impose sanction on England, for not doing anything to tackle the racism in their Country. These so-call organisations can interfere with the Middle East Countries, to rape the people of their OIL! But can’t do anything about the racism and exploitation of minority groups in England. When these society oppress some groups, and unleash the monster them, and the people retaliate, then they call them terrorist! Need some serious pro-action instead of reaction.
A HEAD teacher who subjected staff, governors and parents to a torrent of racist and rude abuse has been banned from teaching. Simon Parker, the former head of Coppice Primary School, in Manford Way, Chigwell, called a supply teacher a "black *****" and pulled his eyes sideways in an impression of a Chinese nursery adviser.
The staffs at Gendale Primary in Pollokshield, where Muslim children are in majority, are being asked to look for signs of radicalisation. It is an incredibly worrying development. We cannot have a culture of teachers spying on Muslim children as young as five. Racism is very ripe in Scottish schools and society. Muslim and other minority children have been victim of racism in all walks of life. LAs and schools are trying their best to hide this issue under the carpet. Hardly anybody was convicted or imprisoned by the Authorities. What do you expect from Muslim youths when they have been victim of racism throughout their development periods? Now Muslim youths are victim of terrorism. Thousands of them are being searched in streets and hundreds of them are behind the bar without any trials.

Because of racism in British schooling, Muslim children are unable to develop self-confidence and self-esteem, therefore, majority of them leave schools with low grades. Racism is deeply rooted in British society. Every native child is born with a gene or virus of racism, therefore, no law could change the attitudes of racism towards those who are different. It looks to me that British society does not want Muslims in the West since it sees them only as a problem?

The Muslims don’t want to integrate or abide by western law. Just because they donΒ΄t want to wear nude clothes or at least cloth that can show how big her breast are... so these people failed to integrate. Just because they don't like free sex, consider dogs and pigs as unclean animals, eat halal meat, then these people failed again. What a dirty Bush mind you have!

Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. They need to learn and be well versed in Standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time, they need to learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies.

Gaddafi falls

You β€”

Well, the rebels have entered Tripoli, there seems to be some sense of jubilation in some segments of the capital while others are still held by Gaddafi's forces.

Gaddafi's son Saif al Islam Gaddafi has been captured and this seems like the ned of the civil war and of the Gaddafi regime.

Now the hard work starts of rebuilding the state - NATO has offered its assistance, which Abdul Bari Atwan of Al Quds on BBC News said was just them/us telling the rebels who is actually in charge.

Du'a - The weapon of the believer: PART 7

Bilan β€”

Salaam πŸ˜ƒ

August 21st - Chapter 6: Discouraged Acts during Du'a

1. Poetry in Du'a

What is meant by 'poetry' is excessive rhyming of words that does not befit the humility that should accompany du'a. However, if such rhyming is not excessive, or comes naturally to the tongue, it is allowed as some of the prophet's ο·Ί du'as contained rhyming phrases.

What is prohibited is excessiveness or going out of one's way to ensure rhyming in one's du'a.

2. Transgression in Du'a

1) Asking for things that are prohibited: A person should realise his place and status in front of his Creator, and beware of exalting himself to where he thinks that he is allowed to do what Allah has prohibited

2) Exaggerating in Du'a: One of the sons of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas was making du'a, and his father passed by and heard him asking "O Allah! I ask you Paradise, and its benefits, and its delight, and its this-and-that...I seek refuge from Hell, and its chains, and its food and its this-and-that.."

Sa'd then said: "O my son! I heard the prophet(saw) say: 'There will be a group what will transgress in their du'a'.' So beware that you be amongst them! Verily, if you are given Paradise, you will be given all that is good in it,a nd if you are saved from the Hellfire, you will be saved from all the evils in it.

In other words, a person should avoid needless requests.

3) Du'a for a matter that has already been decreed: For example, asking Allah to allow muslims to enter Paradise and cause the unbelievers to enter the Fire, because this matter has already been decreed.

3. Not Expecting a Response

Although this has been discussed before, because of its importance it is reiterated here. Too many people, expect that Allah will not respond to their du'a,a nd it is possible that the only reason for it not being responded to is because of this presumption of theirs.

It is part of one's iman to expect the best from Allah and to be sure that Allah will respon to your du'a as He is the Ever-Merciful, All-Powerful.

A statement from Sufyan ibn Uyaynah: "Let none of you think that his du'a will not be answered because of (the sins) that he knows of himself. Indeed Allah responded to the du'a of the worst of creation, Iblis, when he said 'O My Lord! Give me respite until the day fo Judgement"' Allah replied 'Then you are of those who have been reprieved'". Meaning that Allah responded to Iblis' du'a by postponing his punishment until the Day of Judgement.

So if even Iblis' du'a can be accepted, then surely the du'a of a sinner has more right than his?

4. To Pray for Matters of this World Only

The true muslim asks Allah to bless him in this world and in the Hereafter as that is where the true blessings lie. Asking only for matters of this world is a weakness in one's iman.

Allah states in the Quran: "And there are those amongst mankind who say, 'O Allah! Give us in this life', and they will have no share of the Hereafter. And there are those who say, 'O Allah! Give us good in this life, and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the Fire of Hell!' These shall have a share of what they earned, and Allah is swift in Reckoning. - Surah al-Baqarah

5. Improper Names and Attributes

Only take of Allah's Names those that are mentioned in the Quran and sunnah and choose a Name or Attribute befitting of your du'a. For example, it is improper to say "O Rahman! O Rahim! Inflict your severest punishment on such and such..." Likewise, if a person is asking for forgiveness, he should not call out Attributes such as Shadid al-Iqab (Severe in Punishment).

6. Du'a to Expedite Punishment

Some people presume that they must be punished for their sins, and reason that the punishment of this world is lighter than the punishment of the Hereafter. Therefore, they pray to Allah to expedite whatever punishment that is in store for them in the Hereafter to this world. The danger of such reasoning is that the person ignores the great Mercy of Allah, and forgets to ask for forgiveness for his sins. Instead of asking for that which is encouraged and better, they ask for that which he cannot bear!

Anas bin Malik narrated that the prophet(saw) once visited a sick person who has become so thin that he was almost like a newborn chick. The prophet(saw) asked him: "Did you make any du'a or ask (Allah) for anything?" He said "Yes, I used to say 'Whatever punishments are in store for me in the Hereafter, give it to me in this world!'" The prophet(saw) responded "SubhanAllah! You will never be able to bear it! Why dod you not say : 'O Allah! Give us the good of this world,a dn the good in the Hereafter, and save us from the Hellfire!'

7. Du'a Against Oneself and Family

It is possible that a person in a state of sever anger, curses and makes du'a against himself, his family and friends, or his wealth. The prophet(saw) warned against this for he said: "Do not make du'a against yourselves and do not make du'a against your children, and do not make du'a against your servant, and do not make du'a against your wealth, for it is possible that it might correspond to an hour during which all prayers are answered, and your du'a will be answered."

So we should be careful of what we say when in a state of anger, so as not to cause pain and grief not only upon our loved ones, but also upon ourselves.
