Cyber Relationships

I've been following some threads in this forum over the last few days.

Interestingly, I've noticed all kinds of emotions, feelings and different ways of interaction being expressed.

Anger, rage, warmth, friendliness, laughter(lol), smiles, frowns, affection, love, hate, embarassment.

More interesting, events took a twist when people, were taking time off due to annoyance, sabbaticals due to stress, blaming others for invoking passion and rage and vowing not to apologise to someone.

Should terrorists be tortured in jails?

yes, only then they will learn what is it to feel the pain.

Ramadan Resolutions

Salaam

You know the way some people make “New Year” resolutions….with only 3 weeks left till Ramadan starts-why don’t we all make a list of our “Ramadan resolutions”?

What are we going to try and accomplish this year? Read more Qur’an? Attend the Mosque regularly? Control our temper? Eat less at Iftar time? Read our Tahajid?

Are we going to make sure that we don’t miss our Sehri? Are we going to try to read our Tarawih daily?

Or are we like many (weak) people who make resolutions we will break them five fasts down the line?

The Islam Debate

BBC Four will debate the issues raised in the film Battle for Islam, screened on 5 Sept

Zeinab Badawi hosts a discussion programme exploring what the future holds for Islam both in the UK and around the world.

Will militant extremism win? Or are other more peaceful modes of existence possible?

A panel of Islamic experts will scrutinise an optimistic, moderate vision of the future put forward by the writer Ziauddin Sardar in his BBC Two programme Battle for Islam.

In the film, Sardar travels to five Muslim countries: Turkey, Pakistan, Morocco, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Hadrat Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab: the reviver of Najd

[i]Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhaab [ra] was a reputable and God-fearing Aalim of the eighteenth century aligned to the Hanbali Madhab. Sheikh enjoyed unique acceptance and love across the spectrum of social class. Sheikh, in conjunction with the royal family of the time, was responsible for rekindling the love for the Qur’aan and Sunnah in the populace of the Arabian peninsula. Unfortunately, subsequent to the death of the Sheikh, his opponents embarked on a vehement campaign of concocting erroneous beliefs and views and attributed them to the Sheikh.
