Insurgents 'inside Iraqi police'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4266304.stm

They call this news. I've known about this for ages. Only in the last week another journalist working for a US newspaper was "arrested" and killed after writing about infiltration.

It seems to me that al-Sadr is being used as a scapegoat by a number of parties.

He's called Iran's agent solely on the basis that he's a Shi'ite cleric and anti-American. Compare this to SCIRI and the current prime minister whose links to Iran are indisputable.

History of Islam in Europe

Have any of you watched this documentary (or is it a series) by Ragh Omar?

They are repeated on BBC3 quite regularly.

It is very interesting.

However even though he does portray it as a shining light, a beacon for the modern world to follow, I see it as a sad failure.

The Muslims controlled Spain, and sicily. They lost both.

Can British Muslims and Jews get along and still have divergent political beliefs?

Actually there has been a real effort of late to bring the bible closer to it's original form - so there have been interesting new translations from the greek bible (considered the most accurate in use) and of course everyone wants access to the dead sea scrolls which are the most accurate.

What's the deal with the dead sea scrolls?

JailBreak!

Wahey!!!

Jail Break!

The twist being the british soldiers breaking into a jail to free soldiers arrrested for not stopping at an Iraqi checkpoint, and killing an officer.

In the ensuing Chaos, two civillians were killed, and 15 injured.

Tanks were set alight by angry mobs.

You could see british soldiers scrambling out of burning tanks, running for their lives.

'Do as I say, not as I do.' That should be the official motto of the invasion.

Wouldn’t it be correct to say that the way we talk says a LOT about us?

A lot has to be said about a person who can not speak without F’ing and blinding in every sentence.

Many people can not speak without slipping a couple of F words in their speech…regardless of who they’re speaking too.

If they were called to a job interview…or had to speak to their employer or were stopped by the police-or whatever…would it really look good if they slipped a couple of F words in their sentence every now and again?

The Muslim Madonna

Salaam

Some time ago I started a thread up regarding Deeyah…this so called Muslim Madonna who is often seen surrounded by three huge bodyguards, to protect her from people spitting on her, calling her a ***** blinding her with pepper spray, describing in detail how they’re going to cut her up bit by bit and leave her bleeding to death like the dirty, filthy pig they say she is.

I did kinda sympathise with her….its true that she didn’t ever make references to her faith or being a Muslim….and whilst everyone would agree that she is in the wrong violent/physical/verbal attacks on her were N
