this is dissappointing, most of us on here should know better than to go around insulting scholars. Ok so we have a difference in opinion, every1 is an indiviual and no one is perfect. we should all look at ourselves and try to make ourselves better slaves of Allah(SWT)

At the end of the day they are respected elders and Med bhaisaab u should know better. u constantly talk about adab and respect!! sorry its just wrong!!

btw dave people arent leaving because of their commitments to work or life in general (except Admin whose life had become this place ;)) they all left because of insults from other (mostly new) members.

It occurs to me Admin that the reason we banned guests was so that you could have greater control over the posts, perhaps we need a more stringent and consistent policy against people who are just here to provoke us so that we can fully capitalize on that ability.

Restraint is important though... unpopularity is not the same thing as provocation.

lol and Dust as for us oldies - the problem is we are oldies, I know I don't intend to be posting next year... Commitments requiring my full attention make that impossible. Many the rest of yall will be graduating this year and attending to your own affairs and whether you like it or not will drift away from these forums. So we are going to have to be a little more flexible with newbies - there must be people behind to keep the place going.

ofcourse, us oldies have diverse enuf views anyway, so there's no such thing as 'official views of the Revival'. and we are flexible with newbies - look at hayder, he's a relative newbie yet he acts like he's YOUR mentor...

and i dunno about 'drifting away'... we have plenty of members who have graduated, are working, married, have children (well Aph used to post with a job AND two kids!) or whatnot. ofcourse we can leave whenever we want but i personally have a connection with this forum, i'm not much of a 'forumite' otherwise, the only things i come on the net for are news, email, and the revival. i cant imagine leaving... but ofcourse that is all due to the presence of u guys.

i think many of the oldies also work on the revival mag, so they're not likely to up and go anytime soon one would hope.

To a certain extent I agree with Khan. Med took more than a fair share of abuse, and to a certain extent was never given a fair run from the start. He needed a lot more finesse but I don't think he is in the same camp as Ziggy or even Judda.

Banning him was extremely hasty.

However his actions gave us an ultimatum: Angel or Med, and that is an easy decision.

I wouldn't trade Angel for a second - and we didn't.

Yes I do. I am a hypocrite.

However the diference is his accusations fell flat. Mine did not. he still stuck to his after a previous row when he was provided with evidence.

I personally do not care, but when others are put off coming here because of someone else breaking rules, its my job to act. And i warned him.

I backed him til today not because he was right, but because he was unpopular. I dod not want to ban someone because of popularity. He had been told many times to lay off insults. Big or small. They are still insults. and eventually they get the bettter of you, and you flip.

I have to say that recently these forums have been depressing. For everybody.

And you won't allow me to liven them up.

khan, from my point of view, that^ is an unfair response because i've told people to stop the Med-bashing a coupla times, and recently on the Karbala thread i thought he had a point and so i expanded on it.

However, more often than not, Med doesnt have a point, and he certainly never backs it up. he just posts to provoke people, and labels of "bid'ah", "ahlul-bid'ah", "kufr" and "shirk" do not count as evidence to back his point. his posts are always condescending and carry a hint of 'holier than thou'. in fact he told us that he's only here to cure us all of our ignorance. :roll:

Well I dunno... I can't really comment on my personal Sensai. Aph is a top woman and I wish her the best and i'm sure she had very good reasons for leaving.

But honestly I consider myself a revivaler as much as the next person - but I don't know how much of that is the product of being away from loved ones and being in school with little to do, and personal friends i'm not all that fond of. You're very charming people - so much so the alternative of doing nothing with not very interesting people makes it an easy decision to spend half my day signed on to this website.

That all changes in several months, for me and for many of you. We will be much busier, back at our homes with our loved ones, back into our old lives again.

Wow, boy did i miss some action last night!!!!!!

I think admin made the right decision, I personally am in favour of giving member 2 weeks ban if they step out of line and if they do it again then the permanent ban. But yesterday action were justified, civilised discussion have kind of disappeared on this forum of late. The problem has been that some members made accusation only for them to be completely smash apart by some members, to the extent they went silent on the subject, but then they would still carry on making these same accusations again, too me this become a ego thing then and it is a lost cause.

It a pity Med had to go, he had a decent sense of Humour some of the time and on the odd occasion made some really insightful post when not discussing secetrian matters.

But if it come down to losing Dolphin Loving Freaks like Angel we left with no choice, she been one of the main members for as long as i can remember and is one of the people that make revival what it is or what it was. I not going tp say anymore as don't want her to get a big head, it dangerous consider she a midget, her body wouldn't be able to handle it

Anyway let get back to discussing what really important on Revival, Islam, How amazing islam channel and Chimps are, Lost and Cartoons .
